A question about : Switching ISAs

I've currently got around Ј1700 in an Abbey postal ISA which was set up several years ago. The rate has dropped to 5.05% which is ok, but it could be better. I'd like to move the money to another account: the Barclays ISA mentioned in Martin's article pays 6.5% but doesn't allow transfers in, which is annoying.

A question about : ISA Query

Hoping someone can answer this, as I've looked at the guides but I can't see anything about once an ISA has completed a full year and generated the interest.

I have an ISA which had a fixed interest rate for a year and is about to mature in the next 2 weeks. I know that it will turn into a variable rate ISA unless I want to fix it for a term period again.

My question is, what can I do with the interest?

The nice people at Yorkshire BS have just emailed me to say the rate on my E-Isa will increase from 4.9% to 5.15% as of 27th Aug

  3. 60 days notice to withdraw
  4. You need £25,000 in the account to get 5.05%

A question about : M&S Money 4% ISA

The M&S 3 year fix ISA at 4% looks rather good for those with larger transfers in as there is only a Ј100 penalty for closing the account, ie 1 months loss of interest if you put in Ј30,000. (I presume transferring out is closing the account).

Anyone have any experience with M&S Money? Any reason why I shouldn't move both my and my wife's ISAs here? - we have Ј30,000 each.

Have just come out of my local branch and been informed that the new Santander ISA's are being launched this Friday 8th March with the words market leading....fingers crossed we get a good deal
