Hi my father in law died 2 years ago and left my mother in law(54) with a private pension that she decided to get monthly, she has also been receiving other benefits ( housing and council tax Benefit and Job seekers), she was told there was no reason why she couldn't work even though she needs a hip replacement

A question about : I need some help with this

31, male, no kids, still living at home, no job, getting income based jobseekers allowance.

My life is really stifled. I (obviously) need to move out.

I don't understand housing benefit and what they will pay for me until I get a job. I'm getting mixed signals and can't understand the government websites properly.

A question about : impossible to find a home when on housing benefits

Its virtually impossible for my daughter to find a home that is paid for by housing benefit.
There is just 1 that is available in a different town to where she wanted. Its a flat and its a dump. Every room is full of mould and damp. It smells of cigarrette smoke in the foyer. The kitchen is very tired and basic.

A question about : Taking time of work due to repair's

Hi, i have had to take time of work so that i can get the repairs people to repair problems in my household. I had an appointment and waited in all day for the council to arive at my property but they never did.

It states on the options when trying to ring them, that if i am not in my property at the time when the people come to repair the house then i could be charged Ј40 each time.

Hi, I have seperated from my wife for 3 years,she lives in the family (mortgage free )home. She is unemployed and claiming JSA and I have been paying most of the essential household bills which I cant afford to anymore. Should she be paying me rent and if so could she claim for any benefits to help her.Our children have grown up and left home.
