A question about : sitting tenant wanting to buy off landlord

I have been renting my house since 1990 and have been told that I am a sitting tenant.
My landlord has recently passed away and his family, who have inherited the house,have kindly given me first refusal to buy it.
They have not mentioned any figures and have asked me instead to get quotes from 3 local estate agents to value the property as they are not living in the area.

My sister is in the process of trying to sell her house, she owns it along with our cousin. Our cousin never lived in the house or paid towards it and went on the mortgage and deeds to allow my sister to get the house 10 years ago.

The solicitors have wanted ID and paperwork signing and we have got this from my cousin. The solicitor now wants further ID and to speak to our cousin to gain consent for the funds to go solely to my sister.

A question about : How do you find repossessed homes to buy

Hello
I have looked on the Internet and they seem to require a regular fee for me to view all properties in Leicestershire area that are coming up for auction.

I would have thought it would have been more readily available especially when they say repossession of homes is on the increase.

Does anyone know of a way to find out details of properties in your local area for free???

Your help would be most appreciated.

A question about : Easy way of calculating house extension costs?

Is there a simple, rough and ready way of estimating what a house extension would cost? I am aware that not all work would be the same however we would just like a quick, rule of thumb method to see whether our quote is way off the mark.
We will be getting other quotes from more builders. Another thread mentioned Ј100 per square foot - is that realistic for South East England? And is two-storey twice as expensive as single?
