A question about : Taking The Airlines To Court

I thought it might be useful to start a thread specifically with advice on how to manage the process of taking an airline to Court, and perhaps sharing airlines defences and such like.

I have found MCOL so far quite easy to use, and hope people aren't put off from claiming what is their's.

A question about : rejection from Ryanair

hi all
wonder if someone can give me some advice - i used the template from mse to claim for a flight that was delayed in May 2006. i believe the claim is valid (flight from UK to Ireland, delayed over 8 hours, not sure of the reason but wasn't weather and another flight for the same destination scheduled after ours left on time) however, Ryanair have replied with the following:

Our flight from Manchester to Marrakech 18 Oct 2010 was delayed overnight according to the flight Captain because the Toilets leaked into the baggage hold on the previous flight.
Apart from the flight information has anyone else claimed from Thomson and has anyone got evidence please ???

Last year I booked a Tap Portugal flight to Lisbon for two people via Expedia.
Unfortunately the other person I was meant to be travelling with was unable to fly as her passport didn’t arrive on time.
We spent quite a bit of time on the phone to Expedia trying to change her flight to a later date in the week but always made it clear that I would still be taking the original flight.

Our flight to Mauritius with Air Mauritius was delayed by almost 4 hours due to a technical problem (a warning light had to have the bulb replaced)
On our return home I sent in the standard letter requesting compensation as per the new guidelines. (as well as asking for a refund on a different flight with air mauritius a few weeks later paying for extra legroom which we didnt get)

we had to pay for a night in a hotel in Calgary which we didn't use.
I used MSE advice and templates to claim compensation.
This was refused
I contacted CAA They say it was exceptional circumstances, as the pilot was sick.
