RIP little girl....

Anyone thinking of shooting fireworks anywhere just for the hell of it.. think again.

Hera was pretty much killed by one.

She was walking with her human mum in the park when someone decided to shoot a firework.

Hera got scared and started running, she run onto the road where she was hit by a car - the car did stop but Hera did not. She kept on running. It was around 5:30 pm on the 17th.

My friend and her family were searching for her still when just after midnight she got a phone call from a lady who has found Hera curled up by her front door. Not far from home. She was clearly trying to make it home poor girl despite what must have beet terrible injuries from the car.

She was dead by the time she was found.

What did she go through between 5:30 and midnight we will never know now.

Car hit her but it was a firework shot by some mindless MORON that caused all so in my head it was the person who shot that damn firework that hit her.

RIP Hera xxx

  • Odd? Not at all - for all the people who have lost their pets due to fireworks not being regulated properly. Or for the wild animals being terrified of them.
Odd is your reply to my post - on pets forum.
  • Pet was hit by car but you think person who let off firework hit them.
    That is odd.
  • I never said firework and the person who let it off hit her
Hera would not be on the road running scared out of her mind if it was not for the firework being shot by some mindless idiot at 5:30 on a weekday in a public park.
So yes, this is what I think and feel. Firework killed Hera.
  • That's really sad. My dog was scared by a motorbike off-roading in the woods once, luckily he was just a pup and we were quite far from a road so I knew if I kept him in sight he'd get tired before he came to any harm.
  • That's really sad, I think Fireworks should just be for organized displays only and not for sale to the general public. If I had a dog I'd be terrified off letting it off the lead as they always seem to be running off or getting stolen.
  • I am luck in that I have 2 dogs and a cat who are not bothered by fireworks (over the years have had over 13 dogs none of them ever bothered by them) BUT I am sick and tired of the morons where I live who seem to let fireworks off all the time.
Last year apart from going off at random times through the year we had literally 3 continuous weeks of them starting the night before Halloween. Night after night at least 1 person seemed to be letting them off and I felt like screaming. Almost always they were the really loud ones that sound like a bomb.
The they were being let off Christmas Day evening, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day evening and since then I think we have heard them 3 different evenings. WHY?
I feel so sorry for people with pets who are scared plus I am sure wildlife must be terrified by them
