A question about : Redundancy

Hi folks,

I didn't know where to put this. Maybe you can help? It has recently been indicated to my boyfriend that he may well get made redundant within the next 12 months. Okay, so 12 months is a long time in the world, but where does he stand legally? He's been working for the same company for over 2 years (and before he went to do an MSc he worked there for 4 years). There are going to be "cut backs" and he over heard that his department would be scrapped.

A question about : DPD Driver Franchise

I am unemployed and with a family of 4 (including wife) to support I thought about getting a driving job. Most of these tend to be self employed and PD were advertising in my area for Self Employed driver including use of van so I phoned them. They have sent me a pack which does not say how much I would be paid per delivery or how much the vehicle lease would cost. Merely that franchises start from as little as Ј1300.
Can someone here give me some pointers as to cost against potential reward?

A question about : DWP Selection tests...

Hello, i was wondering if anyone could help...

I'm due to sit the selection tests for the DWP soon (literacy and numeracy tests)

Although i'm still very young it's been a couple of years since i was at school and had anything to do with maths! I didn't do very well at all in my GCSE Maths and have taken the selection test before and failed.
However i have already worked for the DWP as an AA for 9 months. I never had to sit any test for this and was always praised in my job (temp contract).

A question about : part time work and jobseekers allowance

im getting jobseekers allowance and a part time job has come up which could lead to more work.. but it doesnt pay enough for me to live on... if i can still claim jobseekers allowance while doing this job then ill be okay to do it and hope that it leads to more hours quickly and/or ill still be looking for another part time job...

the job is a lot less than 16 hours a week and pays about £70 per week before tax... which im guessing will work out about the same as my dole money!

A question about : if you help people with moneysaving tips etc

do you need an IFA diploma or can you just offer this service? thanks in advance.

A question about : How much notice do I need to give my employer

Hi, I am looking to change jobs but have a concern regarding notice periods.
I have worked for my Employer for 15 years and am under the impression that I need to give 1 weeks notice for every year that I have worked there up to the maximum of 12 weeks. Is that right?

If that is true then if I apply for another job, I need to give 3 months notice to my employer - wouldnt that be a negative point AGAINST hiring me?

I am on tax code 543L, I have been working for this company for 4 months now earning under Ј18K and I am married. When I googled this tax code it came up as the emergency tax code - confused????
