Company refusing to interview current employees family member

A question about : Company refusing to interview current employees family member

Hello all

My wife works in a warehouse for a company. They are advertising for two more warehouse / storeman roles and her father applied.

They have rejected giving him an interview as it is a new policy not to interview family members of existing employees. No reason for why that is was given

My question is surely this cannot be legal and is discriminatory. I've googled but cannot find anything specific.

If it is illegal i would really like proof if anyone can find it.

Work and disabled?

A question about : Work and disabled?

I am disabled due to my health (neurological and epilepsy) and people can tell when they see me. I wish to work and sometimes I am lucky to get an interview but after that I am not successful. I am young and feeling depressed.

Simple questions – where do disabled people work? Are there any organisations that can help with employment?

Thank you

Advice needed (Civil Service jobs)

A question about : Advice needed (Civil Service jobs)

Hello everyone title=Smile

I recently applied for a job with Civil Service for an AO role at DWP.
I was previously AO on FTA. I received an email confirming I was successful at the interview and now I'm being placed on a merit list. The email goes on to say they will be in touch when the opportunity becomes available.

Has anyone had experience of this merit list?

Restraining Order

A question about : Restraining Order

I've a conviction and a restraining order was put against me in 2009.

I've been told by a charity who give advice about convictions that because the restraining order was until further order it prevents me from declaring my conviction as spent as the restraining order is open ended.

Anyone advise me as to the validity of the information.

Thanks.
