A question about : Anyone had trouble with new Ukash prepaid currency card?

Both my husband and I applied for and loaded ukash euro cards on sat 21st, waited 7 working days - still not arrived - have called customer services and they cannot find our transactions even though I have given them all reference numbers, I am really worried.
Anyone else had experience of these new currency cards?

I did my bank transfer on the 1st October for some currency but Barclay's froze their accounts on the 29th September. Do you know where my money would be sitting as it hasn't bounced back into my account and do you think there is a good chance I will get it back?

A question about : Charges for Euro cheque paind into UK bank account

I recently paid a Euro cheque on a Paris bank into my UK bank account. The cheque was for Euro 401.18 which was equivalent to Ј320.00 at the time of deposit. I have today received the credit to my bank account for amount Ј250.18 which shows a charge of Ј70.- to change the cheque to sterling. I will also be charged by my bank for the conversion at Ј7.00. Does this sound like the normal charge for a cheque deposit? The exchange rate for the Euro is the same as when I deposited the cheque. Welcome any comments.

A question about : Canadian Dollars

Hi all
I'm looking for some advice concerning some Canadian Dollars that belonged to my aunt.
When she was taken ill and moved to a care home my mother took the dollars to the post office to get them exchanged to pounds sterling. The post office exchanged some of them and handed some back saying they couldn't be exchanged.
Now, I'm don't why they couldn't exchange them and I'm now trying to find out why.
I have 5 x $20 dollar bills from 1991 and a $50 dollar bill from 1988.
Any ideas what's wrong with them?

A question about : Euro cheque to Sterling

I have been sent a cheque sent by a family member for a few hundred Euros. What is the best way to turn this into pounds?

I assume if I go into a high street bank and pay it in to a normal savings account, I'll be hit by high charges? If so, is there anything else I can do, given it's a cheque and not cash?

A question about : Cashing a US cheque into dollars in the UK

I live in the UK with a UK bank account, but I am soon to receive a cheque for a significant sum in US dollars.

Obviously, normally I would want to convert the dollars into pounds.

However, I am going on holiday to the US in October so will need dollars then anyway.

Given I am obviously likely to lose some of the value in the exchange from $ to Ј back to $, I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to avoid this?
