A question about : Council tax rebanded after I left property
I lived at a property from 2007-2014, I appealed the D banding and gave examples of other properties that were B and bigger.
I got fobbed off twice and told it was banded correctly
I left the property in September and told the landlord it was overvalued but they wouldn't change it.
He has managed to get it changed to B and the effective date of alteration is down as April 1993
They say I can't have a refund as I'm no longer living at the property
My argument is that had they listened to my complaints previously I could have saved my self Ј320 per year
So that's a Ј2310 over payment
Any advice or do I just take the hit?
Best answers:
- You are entitled to the refund. If the council don't acknowledge this, get your local councillor involved.
