A question about : New "Sign In/Out" system at work

Hi.

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, sorry if not, but here goes.

Recently at work we had a new system installed for signing in and out - called Watson. It's basically a computer located just as you walk in, into which you enter your ID number then scan your finger!
(we all had to register our fingerprints the other day on it).

Can private companies actually do this? How do I know they are storing this safely?

Hi, Myself and 5 of my colleagues have been working 20 minutes above our contract every week that we have not been getting paid for, this has been going on since the 1st of July 2010. This was first brought up at a meeting in September 2010, my employer had been aware of this for over 2 years now, we have brought it up at numerous staff meetings are well as in the workplace.

My husband has been told he will be in consultation for redundancy as his employers have gone into administration. He has worked for them for 11 years. Is he entitled to be paid for his contracted notice period and statutory redundancy pay as well?

A question about : Long term sick and bank holidays

I'm hoping someone can help me with a small issue I have you my holidays at work.

At the beginning of this year I was off sick, with depression, for 12 weeks. Some of that time fell over the Easter bank holidays. Now my holiday entitlement is made up of 21 days + bank holidays. Now as I was off sick during the two bank holidays and as I didn't get paid for them, other than SSP, I'd like to know if my employer owes me either those 2 days back or 2 days pay? We get paid for bank holidays.

I was injured at work 2 months ago and the manager refused to adjust my duties or conduct a workplace risk assessment. I was forced to take the matter to HR, where the proper procedures were put into place.
