  • Went to Zizz's in Windsor a couple of times - service excellent and food very good (had pasta with chicken/spinach and cheese and have had their pizzas) - very tasty.. It's always really busy in there when I've been and they've had to turn people away.. Despite this the food is spot on, and the service very good...
Unfortunately was in Reading one time for work reasons and popped into the one on Kings Road. The food was terrible. My pasta sauce had a brownish tinge that looked like dishwater/coffee and the pasta wasn't cooked. My collegues chicken salad was also not nice, he'd been in the Windsor one before and said he'd always had excellent service. The Reading one was sloppy, we had to wait for ages and they got our bill wrong and that took ages to sort out.. It wasn't very busy either and never is lately
  • Only been to one and that was in Greenwich, it was real nice and I have been three times. Its calzone is absolutely incredible. Thats all me and the missus have had. Chips are nice too.
  • Great restaurant - we go to the one in Reading. Nice atmosphere, good food.
The highlgiht is the baked apple crumble - it's incredible and is made to order
  • Been to the Leicester ASK twice recently using the 2 for 1 vouchers. Service and food excellent both times (had two different pasta dishes) and was really busy for a week night. Extremely good value when using the vouchers.
    Would definitley recommend.
  • Sorry, wrong thread. Such an idiot. Never been to Zizzi but heard it's good.
  • We use Zizzi regularly on the Strand in London, using vouchers off here (thanks moneysavers!)
The food is always spot on, the staff are friendly and service is usually very good. However unless you book, you may have a long wait for a table (up to an hour some evening - eg weekends, due to close proximatey to theatres etc). I think when a place is full as often as Zizzi's is, it speaks volumes about the staff and quality of the food.
    Can't recommend highly enough.
    Stuart.
  • We go to the Zizzi in Chester. It's usually a bit quiet, especially during the week, but the service is friendly and fast. The food is always lovely, but then, I always have the calzone, so I can't comment on the rest of the menu!
P.S. Thanks swadbus! I'm off to the capital next week, so it's good to know a nice place I can eat cheaply!
  • I've been regulary visiting Zizzi's over the last six years and it seems to have gone down hill over the last twelve months in my opinion.
The menu has changed a little and the pizzas aren't as good as they used to be. For example, my favourite, the "pizza sofia" used to be served with a good helping (roughly 5) of long chicken strips on the pizza, now you are lucky to get one of those strips chopped up finely sprinkled over the pizza. Also the starters seem to have changed - for the worst! What is really dissapointing is the removal of bruschetta genovese from the menu.................the other starters aren't as good and i do wish that they would bring it back on the menu.
Please Zizzi, bring back the bruschetta genovese!!!!!
I would however, recommend Zizzi's to anyone as whenever i've been there i've had a great time.
  • Hi
It is my hen weekend in 2 weeks and we are going to newcastle for the weekend. I was just wanting to know if I would be able to use some restaurant vouchers to help keep the costs down, there will be 20 / 25 people eating?
    Any tips would be great.
    Kx
  • We went to Zizzis in South Croydon with our children and nieces hoping to take advantage of the 99p vouchers. We enjoyed our meal and asked for the bill at the end of dinner. We was dissappointed by the fact that the deal was applied to the childrens menus and not to ours. Despite advertising the childrens' meals as Ј5.95 (for starter, main and dessert) they seperated the bill out, charging individually for each of the items on the childrens' menu and offset the deal against these costs. We were not made aware of the cost of individual children menu items at the time of ordering. If you are using this voucher, you would be better off separating the bill, so that you have a bill for adults and one for children. This would help to reduce the overall cost of your meal.
  • Visited Zizzi's in Brighton Marina at lunchtime and produced the 99p voucher. Waiter didn't seem aware of the offer but told me what I could order. Another waiter produced the check and informed me that the vouchers could not be used at lunchtime. As this does not appear anywhere on the voucher I queried it and ended up calling for the Manager who allowed it to go through. A bit of a blight on a very good meal but staff aren't always aware of what offers are available.
  • Hi, Going to Zizzis tonight for the first time and just want to know if you need 1 voucher per 2 people? There will be 4 of us going so assume I need 2 vouchers, it's not clear on the terms and conditions if you can use more than one though?
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks

  • I took up the 99p offer on the 29th odf last month and 7 of us went to Bournemouth. Rather than rewrite the whole thing here is an email I have mailed to their customer services. To date (6th May) no response.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
My family and friends (7 of us) went for a meal last night at Zizzi in Bournemouth.
We were attracted by the 99p offer , of which we utilised three vouchers.
Can I just say that the food we had was terrible. The pizza I had was bereft of any discernable cheese. My sons and his friend were disgusted with the amount of topping on theirs and left most. The garlic bread starter we all had was nice(although this had very little cheese on it also). My friend and his wife had a calzone each and they too commented they would never again visit Zizzi.
And then to add insult to injury my wife and I were given the wrong pizzas, although when we asked if they WERE the correct pizzas the waitress seemed to already know this and seems as though we had been handed the pizzas in the hope that we didn’t notice we had been given the wrong order. So they were taken away and they had to watch everyone else eat until their correct order arrived some 10 mins later, when we were all nearly finished. (So much for a family meal together).
I would have complained last night but was asked not to by my embarrassed 13 year old daughter. it was it was the worse Ј80 odd quid I have ever spent!
Is there an worldwide shortage of cheese and pizza toppings? Is it so expensive that you can no longer put this on pizzas and have to try and disguise the lack of cheese with 12 kilo of rocket? Have your staff never heard of asking if everything is OK? I suggest they didn’t ask us as they KNEW the service and food was terrible and had already guessed the answer. They were nowhere in sight, to ask for more drinks, to check if our meals were Ok and still nowhere in sight when I was paying the bill. Strange the last one as they should be touting for their tips at this time, the only tips they would have received from me are numbered 1-5 below.
Last week we had the same meal in Pizza Express, it was absolutely brilliant. I suggested we try Zizzis..(DOH!)...I know where well be going next time and where I will be advising people to eat pizza, and no prizes for guessing it wont be Zizzis!
    Can I recommend:
    1. First and foremost.......... get the order right.
    2. Buy some cheese , you sell Pizzas , you need to learn how to apply it.
    3. Dont try and hide the lack of cheese and toppings with unnecessary flora and fauna. Customers are intelligent and can see through cr*p and cost cutting.
    4. Tell your staff that customers sometimes like to be asked if their meal is OK
    5. Train them also to keep eye contact with the customers in case they need more drinks or food, (in your case ask your staff to stay within screaming distance)
All the very best of luck, you need it.
  • Well, we went to Bournemouth Zizzi last night using the 50% voucher and had a lovely meal. The kids all had pizzas (loads of cheese) and the adults had pasta, and the pasta was cooked al dente with flavoursome sauces. Delicious puds from the specials section and a nice bottle of frascati.
The staff were lovely and friendly and welcomed us.
    All-in-all a very pleasant experience.
  • Zizzi is an excellent pizza restaurant - the food is great. If someone has had a bad experience it's because that particular restaurant has problems. The chain itself has mostly very good restaurants, I've never had problems in the ones I've been to in Berkshire. Before moaning about the food I suggest going to other Zizzis.
  • I visited Zizzi's last night and presented this voucher to them, however they informed me that it had to be the actual clipping from the newspaper, therefore I was unable to get the 50% off mains.
Another couple sat next to us had the same problem too - the manager was not best pleased!!
