Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong area.

I have never been on the electoral register and take my privacy very seriously. The website below lists information that you may be concerned about.

It appears that it may be a rogue site after reading this

google 'freeelectoralroll.co.uk complaints' and it's on the squeaky wheel link.

Anyone else concerned about this?

• I'd say 'in my home' or 'families', or possibly the 'vents' part.
• Actually, this has nothing to do with 'opting out'. I have not been on the electoral register for years and it seems the address info on me is based on credit file data, not the electoral register.
• Because, if you're not on the electoral roll in the first place then opting out means nothing. It may say, its 'free electoral roll' but from what I can see...this information is not from an electoral register.

• Spoke to ICO who said their investigation may take 3-6 months (to make a decision) or even longer if they have to pass this onto the spanish ICO equivalent. Nevertheless, ICO (UK) still requires individuals to file a complaint directly to them.

  On the other hand, Patricia G Thornton is on the electoral roll. I know that, because I've found her, and now know her address. But if she'd have opted out of the open register, I wouldn't have found her.
  WRONG. No one is talking about the likes of 192. What you keep failing to understand is that the information listed on freeelectoralroll is NOT from an electoral register. I don't know why you keep whining on about Patricia Thornton, I highlighted that site to show some more info on this. Nothing more.

  Circumstances have nothing to do with it, its unauthorised publication of data. simple!
  They refer to 'consented data records'. As I said before, there may, or may not be, oodles of accessible data out there about you depending on what you've been up to. If you have any concerns about any personal data held by a particular company you should contact the ICO.

  I posted the link because there may be a possibility someone who OPTED OUT of the public register is listed on here. Reasons for opting out could be down to safety and safety alone....a violent ex-partner?! Understand?

  I already tried speaking to the ICO this morning but lines were down so you didn't do me any favours by enlightening me on contacting the ICO....sorry!
  LOL you're the only one who seems to be confused. The site in question does not differentiate between a bad credit file, a good one or on any other definitive criteria from what I can see so far. It states the range is from 1980 - 2014 but that's inaccurate too. The data clearly isn't comprehensive and who knows, they may be updating their databases as we speak but what it does show is that is lists data that people may not want in the public domain....namely their address.
  Just because your details aren't on the site right now doesn't mean to say they won't be. Should we all then assume you've been a naughty boy just the like the silly aspersions you seem to be cast about others.
