A question about : What do you want to achieve in 2015?

Good Morning Everyone and Happy New Year!title=Have

Last year a number of us committed to achieving a number of goals across financial, social, professional, physical and emotional areas of our lives.

By focusing our mind and efforts and committing to the achievement of achievable but challenging objectives we managed to successfully improve many areas of our lives.

And I'm back in 2015 to encourage peeps to sign up to it this year!

All you need to do is commit to 1 or more goal in 2015 (can be as many as you like but better to keep the list manageable!) either financial or non-financially related and then report back at a frequency determined by you! The more people who take part, the better as the more people the more accountability and the more support and encouragement!

So... are you up for it???

  • Here goes.....
    My goals for 2015
  • Pay off 2 credit cards, 1 loan and Ј5,000 of debt.
  • Save Ј50 per month for emergency fund.
  • Sort out mortgage.
  • Finish Mini NYD nursery.
  • Begin Mini NYD memory book (got the book, just need to start).
  • Go away for our first weekend/mini break/week as a family in October 2015 paid for by cash, not credit.
  • Write business and marketing plan for life coaching business with clear milestones, to start in April 2016.
  • Spend quality time with my daughter when on maternity leave, make an effort to go to classes, walks and activities and not dwell on things that don't matter (as much) e.g losing weight and getting fit.
  • Continue to support my dad 100%, research rehabilitation techniques and never give up hope.
  • Read 4 more books that expand my thinking.
  • Read the influence blog and apply it to my professional life.
  • Well all being well, I should pay off Ј2839.44 this year as a minimum, hopefully a little bit more than that as I get a pay rise at the end of the year.
I have a baby on the way, due in February so I am hoping that I am able to stick to budget without dipping into the emergency fund much this year.
  • Pay off my remaining debt by June when my maternity leave ends.
  • Cut back on as much non-essential spending and get a good budget set up.
  • Save up for a house for me and my girls.
  • Continue to better myself as i have been doing the last two months.
  • Start teaching my eldest daughter the value of money and material possessions and how they aren't the most important thing in life!
  • Be happy
  • On New Years day 2016 I want to report that
I am in same job (this could be a tall order)
How much I have managed to save as the emergency fund
That I have become coupon queen - and how much has been saved through using discount codes and vouchers etc
That I'll have started shopping at Iceland (Can't wait for this Feb when a certain diet club launch their meals idea in stores )
That I have lost more weight (sorry OP) there is a social element to it which I need
If I have needed to borrow or been allowed, I'll be honest
To keep my flat tidier and cut the clutter as much as it will hurt, so what I've done away with
That there has been no booze (unless special occasion) or medisional!)
How many thank you cards I'll have written
In addition I am toying with the idea of writing down any key moments during the year, good or bad? bit like having a money jar but just memory building and something to reflect on this time next year
Jeez here's hoping it's not famous last words
Good luck anyone having babies, so lovely x

    4. Add to my emergency fund
    5. Pay for our 2016 cruise & save some spending money

Keeping it short & simple this year!!

  • Love this idea! My goals for 2015 are:
    1. Start being more sensible with cash ( I tend to withdraw around Ј50 a week and fritter it away on bars of chocolates, magazines, Costa coffees, silly trinkets from Accessorize, ect )
    2. Clear away clutter and donate things I don't need to charity shops.
    3. Close one of my credit cards.
    4. Go on a mini holiday to Paris and keep saving for my big holiday in 2016.
    5. Attend more meditation classes at my local Buddhist centre.
    6. Get healthy ( by eating sensibly and actually going to the gym I joined last year! )
    7. Study hard to get results that I can be proud of for my Open University course.
    9. Read many more wonderful novels and try and get my manuscript finished and sent out to agents.
    10. Find love.
    11. Add to both my ISA and HOLIDAY funds.
    12. Be happy.
  • Happy New Year everyone. My 2015 goal are:
    1) Have a thousand pound emergency fund.
    2) Finish the Great North Run and the Blackpool half marathon
    3) Pay off my Simply Be account (currently stands at Ј759)
    4) Carry on making my house nice (there is too many things to do to be more specific).
    5) Not get into any more debt
  • My goals for 2015 are:
    1. Make the most of my days off with my little boy(maternity leave ends Monday and it's gone far too quickly)
    2. Pay off the loan for one of the cars
    3. Complete my final AAT exam
    4. Have a savings fund to cover car expenses, Christmas and any emergencies
    5. Complete my tax return in April and not out it off
Good luck everyone in achieving your 2015 goals
  • What a great idea for a thread and I would like to join please.
    My goals are:
To keep to a budget for expenditure so I can see exactly what we spend our money on and how much we really need to live off each month. We are just under four years to retirement so this is important so we know what income we will need once we stop working at the end of 2018!!
To start an investment portfolio and educate myself on stocks, shares and pensions and all those things that have baffled me up until now. To help I have signed up to the Save Ј12k in 2015 thread and opened up an investment fund to start from January.
Those are my main goals plus lose the extra stone in weight I am fed up of carrying around and declutter the house and stop spending on stuff I only use a few times then stick in a cupboard to sit unloved for months on end.
    Happy New Year everyone.
  • My goals for 2015
    1. pay off at least 10k of c.c. Debt
    2. Lose 35lbs
    3. Get more organised at home and work
  • I want to make a real dent and proper head way with my remaining credit card debt as it charges interest, i can then finish paying off my other credit card which doesnt get interest charged on it
  • Longest time lurker is there is such a thing!!!
Finally time to grow up and realise that money does not grow on trees and borrowing from Peter to pay Paul is NOT sorting my finances out! So my main aim for this year will be:
STOP SPENDING MONEY I DON'T HAVE lol
    Lose weight
Declutter my house, my body and my mind
Actually purchase something that I have 'saved up' for and not relied on credit! and enjoy the feeling of having worked and 'earned' it
Wish me luck guys, you are all an inspiration!! x
  • Long time reader, occasional poster but I wouldn't mind jumping in if thats ok
    1. Finish paying off my CC & loan (this is a bit of a cheat as I know they will both be done come April this year, can't wait!)
    2. Clear the house out, persuading the kids and wife to try to do the same and sell anything we do not use any more
    3. Wouldn't mind losing another stone in weight, have dropped 3 stone in the last 2 years so 1 more would be good.
    4. Start to write a small book on my memory problems bought about by eating processed sugar and how I have forgotten half of my life thanks to that (long story, but sugar is bad ok!!)
    5. Become more social. People look at me as anti-social as I don't go out as much, I don't get in the 'cool groups' at work etc. I prefer to say I am selectively social and being an introvert it doesn't help
    6. Post here more and give encouragement to others who feel there is no where to turn. Its not a nice feeling and a bit of support can help, well it has for me
Happy new year people - may 2015 be that little bit better than you expect!
