A question about : Using supermarket names in this forum
It may seem an obvious question but I am not a legal connoisseur or a Money Saving Expert forum devotee - I would like to know if there is some kind of legal or data protection statement probibiting the use of the supermarkets actual names on sites such as this.
This is because so many people on the forum seem to say 'Mr S', 'Sainsbob's' or 'Sainsburgers' rather than 'Sainsbury's' and recently I saw someone writing 'a supermarket which can't be named but rhymes with 'Bo-op' in a post rather than using their actual names.
Can anyone explain to me whether this is just an MSE Forum tradition or some kind of legal stipulation - just interested! (However if I was Sainsbury's marketing guru I would certainly rename it 'Sainsburgers' - much more memorable I think?!
Best answers:
- Seems to be some sort of tradition , born of a belief that supermarkets monitor these boards and by saying "Mr Ts" Tesco will not know post is about them
