Best answers:

  • Don't take travellers cheques. You will probably find that they are not accepted in lots of places.
How much money do you need? It's easiest to just take UKP cash and change up as you need it. Your hotel will do it for you.
Using a cashpoint is fine, but remember that you'll have to change back any dinars before you return.
  • I've just got back from Tunisia with my travellers' cheques untouched...had to use cashpoints/credit card as nowhere accepted them.
You're going all inclusive? With a name like Sithmaster, you aren't heading down to the desert to pose on Ong Jemal???
  • Perhaps if you post on the correct board, you'll get better answers.
  • I agree that Sterling cash is the best and obtain the Tunisian Dinars once you are over there, ensure the Sterling notes are in good condition. Tunisian Dinars are a closed currency and it is illegal to take them into or out of Tunisia, so ensure that you spend/or convert any leftover Dinars before you leave Tunisia! • If you're on AI in Tunisia then you'll struggle to spend much money unless you buy all the Reps expensive excursions, or buy a 'genuine' carpet.
Take sterling, change a few quid at the airport. Exchange Rate is 'fixed' so even at the airport you'll get about the same as in town.
Then just change a little as you need it.
Try not to end your holiday with many dinars as you'll get stung changing it back.
You can't use dinars in the Duty Free at the airport, but you can buy coffe and a sarnie with it in Departures.
Don't worry if you haven't spent every single dinar as you won't get stripped searched!
  • thanks for your replys, think i will take sterling cash as advised, just keep it in a safe place
