A question about : Travel Insurance

Hi

I am looking for travel insurance to cover pre-existing medical conditions. I have tried the usual internet sites etc and the quotes are very expensive. Wondering if anyone can advise a company?? Thanks. title=Smile

Best answers:

  • Hi have used direct travel insurance for about 10 years find them great even with medical conditions.
  • I use goodtogoinsurance.com - much more reasonable quotes than some!
  • Don't just go for cheapest -check the small print and make sure all the cover you need is in place - also be aware of any excess.
    Spectrum travel ins are good and try a comparison website as well.
  • Get comparative quotes here https://www.moneysupermarket.com/tra...rance/enquiry/
  • Try LV insurance? We have used them for both long haul and short trips and found them fairly reasonable for adequate cover for our numerous medical conditions. Never had to make a claim before though..
  • I'm with Holidaysafe, got a good price and I have a number of pre-existing conditions. All depends just how serious your conditions are of course
  • Big Cammy some of the insurers won't even cover me!
  • Aviva worked out best for me - some of my quotes were sky high!!!
  • Ive never had travel insurance, but have heard it talked about on the radio, seem to remember that the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Consumer Council could advise.
  • Hi finally got travel insurance with J Hatty & Co, Bangor very helpful, good cover and reasonably priced!
  • Yes they are brokers, underwriters are Axa.
  • Good advice I got on here a few years ago was;
    1. to ask if we were covered from leaving home as this covers you if you take a flat tyre or any other similar mishap on the way to the airport
    2. are we covered if we leave from a non uk airport - sometimes we fly from Dublin or Knock.
    I know this is not related to medical conditions but I found it to be great advice.
