Student storage this summer in Cardiff and Belfast ???

A question about : Student storage this summer in Cardiff and Belfast ???

My daughter is a student living in a rented house in Cardiff (near the city centre) and has no car.

We live in Belfast N.Ireland (a few miles from Queens University )

Our daughter needs to come home from Cardiff for the summer - at the end of May/start of June - and doesnt need to be back (to a different house) in Cardiff until September.

We've been looking for the most economical way of putting her books bedding clothing kitchen stuff etc into storage in Cardiff, but due to cost and hassle, I guess we'll end up doing the same laborious trip as last year - taking the overnight boat from Belfast to Liverpool,driving to Cardiff to bring EVERYTHING home...and then doing the same -in reverse- in September.

So ( eventually) the point of my post...if there's anyone in Cardiff planning to come to Belfast to bring their kids things back to Cardiff for the summer, to then bring them all back to Belfast again in September...if you let me know, maybe we could arrange to collect,store and deliver each others kids things locally and therefore cut down on costs and hassle....???

• have you thought about her storing her things in somewhere like The Big Yellow Storage Company? There's one on Penarth Rd in Cardiff, and there are plenty of similar places. Then she could just bring home the essentials she can carry.
  She could use a taxi to get the stuff there - you can ask for a big car.
• Thanks Gin...she has been in touch with one of the storage companies ( possibly the Big Yellow one ?) but it is quite expensive for the length of time she needs it. I just thought I'd see if I could find someone from the Cardiff area facing the same problems with their kids at Queens University in Belfast so that we could perhaps look after each others kids things for a few months and cut down on the cost. Thanks for your reply :-)
• I hope you find someone, it seems like an ideal solution. I would offer, but with 4 kids space is at a premium here!
• I don't know if it's the same for your daughter's uni but ours has a notice board outside the SU, might be worth putting a message on there, does seem like a great solution!

• I stored all my stuff last May with Storage Collect and it was all right. I guess there are plenty good/cheap storage companies in Cardiff.
