Daily Step Count

A question about : Daily Step Count

I have a health tracker on my phone and it tells me that:-

in the last 30 days i have:

taken 210293 steps - daily avg. 7788
burned 10041 calories - daily avg. 372
been active for 31 hours 38 mins - daily avg. 1hr 10 mins
distance 97.62 miles - daily avg - 3.62 miles

the averages are a bit skewed as i don't carry my phone at weekends.

No wonder get through 2 pairs of DeWalt work boots a year.

Free fitness classes in London Boroughs

A question about : Free fitness classes in London Boroughs

Our Parks recently started up in Haringey where I live. They are free exercise classes in local parks. So far there are four per week in Haringey but it will increase if more people come - this is the only thing I get out of promoting it by the way!

So far it's in several East London boroughs like Newham and Waltham Forest, and they're just starting in six West London boroughs. Nothing South yet I'm afraid.

Joined a gym

A question about : Joined a gym

I've signed up for an opening offer at a new gym locally that opens tomorrow. Went to look round whilst it was a bit of a building site - looks really good. It was a Ј9.99 a month offer and you stay paying that on a rolling monthly payment - no contract can cancel at anytime.

Want to lose some weight and get healthier.

Its a few miles from home and I don't drive but its on my route between home and work so covered on train pass I buy for work so no extra costs to get there.

A question about : What weight is overweight for you

Not counting people with large amounts of muscle/ other circumstances making the BMI calculation unsuitable. Well You can if you want its still interesting to me.

I am really short so would be overweight at only 9 stone! (BMI 25+)
Obese (BMI 30+) at 11 stone
Morbid Obese (BMI 40+) at 14.5 stone
Underweight at 6.5 stone.

Some advice needed about getting back into shape

A question about : Some advice needed about getting back into shape

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice with regards to getting back into shape, I think I need to be 'smarter' in my approach.

Basically I'm 28, male and 5ft 11, I've led a pretty sedentary lifestyle over the last 2 years and this has led to weight gain and I was approaching just under 13 stone and my BMI was slightly over. I love chocolate and was eating far too much rubbish.
