A question about : Soulie's 15 projects in 2015

Last minute I know but here is the new thread for 2015

This is a continuation of the 14 in 2014 in memory of Soulie thread.

There are very few rules other than the usual MSE forum ones of being nice etc

The aim is to complete 15 craft projects in 2015. Any type of craft counts. One of the joys of the 2014 was seeing the huge variety of different things produced

You can draw up and post a list now or take it as it comes - whatever suits you best

Update as often or I frequently as you can. Photos are always much appreciated and there is also a Flickr group just for us which I will rename so that it includes 2014 and 2015 - it's now called 15 in 15, 14 in 14 and this is a link to the group. Because all I have done is rename it if you were able to access it last year you should be able to do so this year without re-applying.

For new members you have to join Flickr first (free) and then apply to join our group. This means that the group is restricted to people who are part of this forum which some people are more comfortable with when posting photos.

  • I'm not going to offer to keep track I'm afraid
  • I like to keep track of what I achieve in a year but it doesn't suit me to plan too much. I like the flexibility of adding new projects during the year
My overall goal is to stitch from stash as much as I can
I am participating in 4 SALs in 2015 which would be 15 finishes if completed
Mirabilia SAL. I am stitching At the Met. This may not be finished in 2015
    Zodiac monthly SAL by CloudsFactory
Story time monthly SAL by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
Smalls SAL (one small finish per month)
I have some WIPs and UFOs I want to work on and plans for a wedding sampler and a quilt
Looking forward to reading about your plans
  • Can I join too? 15 projects in 2015 sounds just my thing. Will try and make a list and report back. A selection of knitting, crochet, tapestry and hand patchwork but will give sewing a miss as I don't have a sewing machine. Definitely need a new dishcloth or 6 and need to recover a lampshade.
  • Will post my list. So pleased you've set this up for next year. Thanks so much x
  • I have been following last year's thread for a while now and enjoyed reading about and seeing what has been made. I have decided that this year I'm going to make sure I spend some time on myself and my interests which I don't do very often. I will come back with a list of 15 projects later. I hope to not only do some crafts which I already like but also to learn one new craft, possibly two.
Today I'm going to spend some time sorting through my sewing roomto see what's in the stash.
  • Thank you fos, I'm definitely in again my head is full of things I want to do.
I'll be back with the bones of a list later but we all know that as the year progresses plans and lists change.
    1. Blanket for forthcoming first grandchild
    2. Cross stitched Christmas stocking for above.
    3. More on Celtic Noel (wip)
    4. Cross stitch retirement gift for someone

  • Okay, I failed miserably in 2014...got a few crafty things done, even had a sale at church to raise funds for a Uni trip. But I really want to be more focused this year.
    So to start with:
    1) yellow cushion for dd1's 16th birthday (making her a sunshine sweet sixteen hamper - can the hamper count as 1 crafty thing?)
    2) finish the pastel crochet blanket I've been making for years.
    3) have a go at making something "clothesy" - perhaps a skirt or something.
    4) make the decorations for our women's day conference.
I will have to add extras as I go, I'm always looking for new craft ideas for Guides/school/work so hopefully I can "borrow" some of the ideas on here as the year progresses. I may even face my demons and attempt cross stitch (seriously, the craft hates me, just can't get on with it, as much as I want to!)
  • Hi Girls,
Don't know if I will do 15 next year but you never know what will happen.
    Kind wishes,
    sweetcarer

  • I'm in again too!
I'm having troubles with flickr, but I will try and get that up and running again!
I was gifted with a rotary tool at christmas so many of my crafts are likely to be engraved!
I actually engraved a peacock into the bottom (as in underneath) of a Pyrex dish last night and I'm quite proud of the outcome. I won't add this to my list though.
My list will be added to as and when I think of things, but here goes....
    1. Engraved a pug into a glass for pug loving friends birthday
    2. Use rotary tool to carve wood. I have no idea what as yet!
  • Peacock baking dish by boulton.carla, on Flickr
    seems ive sorted flickr!
Here is the peacock I did, it's a little wobbly but I'm quite happy for my first attempt!
I just wish I could get the glare of the photo from the camera flash for you to see it better!
  • Looks brilliant carlamarie
  • Count me in again too, please, flower.
    Here's my starting point:

    4. wedding stationery for son's wedding in April
    5. scrapbook/memory journal/Project Life - hope to do at least 12 pages
    6. Morsbags
I have another 20 projects waiting in the wings and no doubt others will present themselves as the year progresses.
This is a great way to stay focused.
