A question about : Why have numerous relevant threads been moved to discussion time?

I am not a huge poster on here, but am lurking every day. I use the house prices thread to educate myself a little more on what is going on, firstly, with house prices and secondly, the economy in general. I read HPC too, but I do feel MSE, is a little more balanced, so stick here. Given the increase in numbers, I suspect others are the same.

A question about : Old thread: 2012 Forum redesign

Hi folks,

A couple of weeks ago when we launched the new masthead, we changed the forum to become fixed width. We got a bit of a barrage from some regular users about it.

We've listened to some of the feedback and made some tweaks which give more post space while still remaining fixed width.

DO NOTE WE STILL PLAN A FULL REDESIGN, THESE ARE JUST MINOR QUICK FIXES TO HELP

The plan is to hopefully switch the current version to the new version in a week - but we wanted to feedback first.

A question about : Skimlinks trial on MSE forums

UPDATE: This trial has now ended and Skimlinks removed. We will now evaluate and decide if we're going ahead and how we best communicate it to people.

Hi folks,

From tomorrow (5 August), we are going to begin a one month trial of some new software on the non-Pure Money boards - that's already being used by The Telegraph, Mumsnet and others - and wanted to give you an early heads up about it.

A question about : Major Changes To Forum Policy

I called a brainstorm of the team at MSE Towers today, as i've been worried about the forums and what I perceive to be an increase in nastiness.

We tackled three issues and while I will write more on each one as it happens we came up with some ideas we may try. The following are my hastily tapped out notes and thoughts (my RSI is bad so its not polished)

I know whatever we decide some won't like it, but its my responsibility to make the difficult decisions, for collective best for the forum.
