A question about : self emplyment income protection and tax credits
Oh dear got myself in a pickle I think.. my husband is self employed and I informed tc that he normally worked 30hrs a week..I am employed at 24hrs a week.we have two young children, one of which goes to nursery and I pay Ј12.00 a week .my husband has been recieving a private income protection pay out monthly( small amount), since he injured his back, and has not been able to work, therefore his profit from self employment was 00 last year. I informed tc that he was no longer working after his recent operation. My husband says he is still self employed but not working..he has informed the tax office..
do I include his income protection in our joint income?
he has never claimed state benefits and says he won't!
what happens if he doesnt go back to work, do I still qualify for the childcare element?
this is giving me a major stress .I am on maternity leave at the mo and feel like giving it all up and going back to work full time..........
please help..
