A question about : Recommended hairdressers Swansea/Llanelli area

Hi,
After a few bad experiences at hairdressers I am now ready to try again.I would be grateful if anyone could recommend a good ,friendly hairdressers in Swansea/Llanelli area?

Best answers:

  • alfredo's in morriston is nice but pricey, Enzo's is superb but if you want the best cut in swansea, mark Germain!!!
  • I'm sorry but I have to disagree abot Enzos.
I have had a hair cut in there by Enzo himself that can only be likened to Edward Scissorhand. Wonky parting, uneven hair length. It was so bad I came home and cried for half and hour and I don't even cry watching slushy films.
I can definitely recommend Hair By Martin in Gowerton.
He does very bog standard no fussy hair cuts, I've seen him retrieve someones really badly dyed hair, he retrieved mine after Enzo wrecked it, he has cut my OH';s and a good indication is a lot of older ladies go there regularly.
I have had a colour, cut and blow dry for Ј25 with fab results.
Am so pleased have asked him to do my hair for my wedding.
  • Mark Jermain has gone down hill lately.
  • I can thoroughly recommend 'The Hairshop' in Swansea, at the top of the Kingsway (Argos end). I went there after fancying colleagues haircut - Kevin (owner & hairdresser) is fab, especially if you fancy trying a new look/restyle. Costs a bit more than your local village hairdresser but worth every penny.
  • Have any of you been to Rhian at Trendsetters? Its on Deli St in St Thomas but dont be put off by location, she's ace & the prices are perfect for all us moneysavers!!! Theres also a beauty salon upstairs but I havnt been there.
  • Went to "Talking Heads" in the bottom Picton Arcade (leading to the Grand Theatre) today - flipping expensive but very happy with the results (cut and colour). Gwen cut my hair and she's lovely and did a really good job. The other hairdressers working there were a touch scary-looking, although should I win the lottery I will pay the girl who washed my hair to come and work for me as my personal hair-washerer ever day as it was the best hair-wash I've ever had.
Also, it seems the Mark Jermin salon underneath the Dragon Hotel is now the Brian Brown Salon - I hope he's curbed his swearing now his name's above the door!!!!
    Jxx
  • I second the recommendation for The Hair Shop at the end of the Kingsway. Excellent cuts, friendly and relaxed staff, and not afraid to give you a bit of advice when you ask for it.
  • Hello peeps,
My girlfriend's a mobile hairdresser, and reasonably priced, she does Llanelli/Carmarthen area if anyone is interested.
She used to lecture hair in Graig CCTA and Pembrokeshire college, has L'Oreal colour qualifications, 14 years of hair dressing experience, very approachable, sympathetic and reliable.
Has also revived hair that's been badly damaged, colour correction etc..
and even taught me to cut hair too!
if you guys are interested, get your hair done in jan/feb and get 10% off if you mention you got it off this site
    just let me know..
    ed.
ps: if you want a price list, let me know
  • Hilary or Gemma at the U salon in Parcgwernfadog will help you out. Hilary cuts my hair & always does exactly what I want. She also had a go at chemically straightening my hair when I asked her to get the stuff in & took an instruction sheet with me. She followed it to the letter & I now have lovely, straight & , most importantly, undamaged hair. From what I gather, having a hairdresser follow instructions is rare so she's a great find & she's not afraid to cut dry, too (a must if you have curly hair like I had).
The salon may be listed under Headjunkie (recently had a name change) & is close to Morriston hospital There's a sister salon in Morriston itself but I avoid that as the parking's a nightmare. Check it out on Yell.com & it should give map directions (it's not far from the Deer's Leap pub if you know it). There's free parking outside, too, which makes it a lot easier than going into town.
  • Desperate for a new hairdresser in Llanelli/Swansea/Ammanford/Pontardulais area. I have recently changed hairdressres as mine left the area. Not over pleased. I have long blonde highlighted hair and the colour is no longer bright and the roots seem visible (to me) straight after it's done. Sorting a good colour is essential for me HELP!
  • morgans Hair Design in Swansea (used to be Francis John) opposite the Quadrant Gate pub. I thoroughly reccommend them. They have a few good hairdressers there, Jenni, Kym, Stacey,Caroline. only downside is that the sinks aren't moveable, which is a bit of a pain. It's Ј25 for cut and blow dry

  • esprit in Sketty is good
  • jordans in sketty swansea are brilliant, after many hair nightmares which were more hair donts than hair do,s i can totally recommend this salon.
  • Any update on the Hairdressers in Swansea recommendations? I am starting to look like a female Worzil Gummidge so something needs to be done soon
  • Sculptures in Hendy is superb. I used to use very expensive salons and only went to Sculptures the first time as it was a last-minute thing and I'm converted - been going there for 4 years now. I've got really difficult hair but Angela (the owner) is the first hairdresser who's really known what to do with it, and she shows me how to do the things she's doing too, so that I can keep the style looking good. She's also given me great colour advise, and I also had my hair permanently straightened with her which was stunnign (needs doing again now, but lasted 18 months and everyone was amazed at how it looked) The prices are amazing too. Definately give them a go, they're really friendly too.
