Reclaim PPI & Other Insurance

A question about : Barclays PPI and Interest Refund Mystery

Hi

Logged into my online account and found Ј6,000 more than I thought I would have! Amazed - received Ј3,000 from a Barclays Additions missold account last year. I vaguely remember querying a ppi on an old loan a few years back, but did not have the paperwork to prove it. It says ppi and interest refund credit RTB CUST REL O with a Roman Column next to it. Can anyone of you lovely people shed some light on this. Already figuring out how to spend it!

Also how can I tell who it is from?

Hi all,

I was contacted in June by a company called RedReclaims. They gave me the usual blah about offering a PPI claim service. This one seemed a little different in that they (for an upfront fee) would trace back through my financial history to locate all credit cards, loans, and mortgages previously held and request copies of all my agreements to see if there were any PPI agreements added without my consent.

A question about : Citi bank PPI

I have had a reply from Citi Financial regarding credit card PPI mis-selling. I have 2 concerns.

1. Card Protection Policy (CPP) was included in application, they have admitted this was mis-sold and as this was paid before Jan 2005 they have sent me a cheque for Ј86 , a refund of premiums plus 8% interest. SHOULD I CASH THE CHEQUE???

A question about : 1992 to 1997

loan of 50K( to finance house purchase) from RBS self ,my wife school teacher.To protect the loan extra insurance was taken .out .No paper work to track more details .I am sure the insurance was with Royal Scottish Assurance ,a associated part of RBS IS this all too late to pursue .RBS no help

• If you have no documents left, yes. May be a consolation that PPI for a loan secured on your house is likely to fail a complaint as it can help save your home from repossession

I was trying a thought experiment the other day:

If someone defaulted on a loan an never paid the balance off and it was passed to a debt collection agency etc. could that person still reclaim PPI?

What if that person has since moved and/or changed their name (not to avoid debt collectors but on marriage etc.), would the lender be obliged to pass the debtor's new details on to the debt collectors? Would they do it out of spite?
