Is This Quote Fair?

A question about : Ј6350 for new heating

I have warm air heating which I am replacing with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 34CDi Classic and 8 radiators and have been quoted Ј6350 to remove the old heating unit and install the new heating with the boiler in the attached garage.

This is for a 3 bed semi.

A bit much or is that what it costs nowadays?

I wonder what SG would quote? Ј10,000?

A question about : Carpentry Quote

Just trying to get an idea about a quote a carpenter has given me for a job as he's the only one out of about 50 contacted that actually got back to me and came to have a look!

I'm looking to get an open staircase renovated to include a balustrade and spindles up the stairs and on the top landing, and at the same time have a cupboard created in the recess underneath.

He's quoted me about Ј1300, does this sound about right?

A question about : New stair Banister and spindles Ј1000

Please let me know if this sounds decent:

Ripping out old stair banisters (these are old style horizontal boards not really very safe) then fitting new banister's and spindles 3.5m banister up the stairs and 2.5 on the top of the stairs 42mm width half nevel for the top all redwood.

Quoted Ј1000 we are in the midlands.

I have tried to get a few other quotes in but nobody local seems to want to come in for a quote currently.

I was expecting more around the Ј600 mark personally.

A question about : Close board fencing quote

Hi guys, looking for a little advice, so far have had two fencing contractors out to my house to quote on a replacement fence for my back garden, close board fencing at 6 feet high, 15 metres long down one side and 8 metres long down the back.

Had one confirmed quote at Ј1320.00, this includes removal and disposal of the old fencing too, not had the other quote back yet but does the Ј1320 seem like a reasonable amount or on the expensive side?
