A question about : Quidco Follow up thread 12

this is to replace the existing thread that has become too long

the old thread is here

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....html?t=901385

the thread with all the curent No spend offers on Quidco that will earn you money for no , or little cost is here

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=978759

I know there are ongoing issues but I have been trying to do this for a month and there never seem to be a good time

apologies to all

can I ask posters NOT to use the words con or scam etc as there is NO proof that anything of the sort is going on and I will have to remove posts that overstep that mark

from the forum rules

  • Try and be positive and constructive as thats the best way we can try and get problems sorted.
  • hi
mine is a simple quidco question, i have Ј1.75 cashback ready to be paid, can i keep it on hold and not get it paid to me until its a larger amount?
    hope that makes sense!
    thankyou
  • if you have set your payments to go into your bank account then it will just go in , if you remove all payment options it will sit there until you put them back in
just remember to re-enter them at least 10 days before the end of the month

There is not as much a division as you think. Most of us are more than happy to accept that nothing is guarenteed and with items that you were going to puchase anyway does it matter much ???
It would bother me as someone has advertised that I would get the money and I didn't!
For instance I will use Quidco for Tesco direct and if I get something back then great if not I've lost nothing.
It would still bother me. The merchant said they would pay commission for the purchase. This commission would be paid to the affiliate network who would pass it on to Quidco, who would then pass it on to me.
If I didn't get the money then I would think someone else has got my money and they are not giving it to me, or the next person in the chain.
I wouldn't care if it is the merchant who is not paying the money to the affiliate network, or the affiliate network who is not passing it on to Quidco, or if it is Quidco not passing it on to me.
The fact is I did my bit, and someone who isn't me has my money.
If this happened to me I wouldn't be sitting thinking "oh well, it was a bonus if I got it, but I didn't so I've lost nothing".
I'd be off joining the affiliates4u forum and tracking down the affiliate manager of the merchant and asking him/her publicly why i wasn't paid.

  • Hey only just started to use this site abit and recently I have used Betfair, where you deposit Ј10 and get Ј30 back with quidco. I'm quite a noob at all this stuff, could somebody please tell me whats its about etc.
    Thanks alot!
  • Are you asking about Quidco or Betfair?
  • Both I think. I mean I signed upto Quidco, and I am already a member of Betfair. So I clicked the link on quidco and deposited £10 on Betfair. I was just wondering where I get this £30 and how I recieve it, either by Quidco or Betfair.
Any help will be appreciated mate.
  • You're out of luck if you are already a Betfair customer. You would only get the Ј30 if you are going to Betfair to sign up as a new customer. If you were a new customer you would get the Ј30 from Quidco, although Betfair would actually be giving Quidco the dosh for providing them with a new customer.
  • Damn, oh well bashed the tenner on Spain to win tomorrow, hopefully they win, if not I get my bet back.
Cheers for clearing that up for me mate
  • I wont use Quidco again because of Splash adding new terms after i had purchased my cards. These T&Cs werent present when i bought my cards so i should be paid or Quidco should ask Splash to refund as the mistake was theres. I wont even consider using the cards now
Please read the following before proceeding:
***Please note that this merchant considers the card to be fully activated only after payment of the £5 application fee and the first £4.95 Annual Maintenance fee, which is payable at the first topup. Failure to complete both of these within the 45 day limit will result in your transaction being declined.***
  • Hi there MSE!rs!
I've got a question for you all. I've recently signed up with O2 Broadband and did it through Quidco however it hasn't tracked. After reading the tips I realised I had multiples tabs on the go =.= (My fault).
I was wondering would it be best for me to cancel my broadband I re-apply through Quidco or TopCashBack? Since O2 have their 50 day moneyback guarantee.
I'm moving to a new flat and the BT Landline hasn't been activated yet so O2 can't activate their Broadband. I'm a first time moving student and never done all this malarky before. What would you guys reccomend doing?
    Thanks in advance
    Cliff

The income generated goes to three main areas:
  • It pays for staff, technology and the Forum.
The money it makes goes to paying a very large server budget to cope with the hefty traffic and providing jobs for thirteenfull time members of staff and a number of part-timers. It's also allowed me to pay to have MoneySaving technologies built, often just because I think they'll be fun; tools like the Budget Planner, Flight Checker, CallCheckers, RewardsChecker and Tart Alert don't generate any revenue - its one of the reasons you won't find others making them.
It also goes to finance the Forum which takes huge resources because it's massive. In fact the company that provides the off-the-peg software for the Forum, Vbulletin, is now working with us as it's become one of the world's biggest and it allows them to tweak and test their software under huge stress. It's not just the technology either, as with any large community there are rules and issues of 'policing it' to keep it a safe place for all.
  • It pays for me.
I don't want to hide the fact the site is a very substantial part of my income; and I make an extremely good living. I consider what I'm doing to be 'social entrepreneurship,' while the prime purpose is trying to benefit consumers at the same time, without compromising that, I hope the site makes very decent money, like any business (see my social entrepreneur blog).
In fact I'd love it to make me a billionaire, providing it never compromises my ethics and recommendations or cost any users a penny!
  • It's allowed over £100,000 a year to be donated to charity.
Best of all it has also allowed me to set up the MoneySavingExpert.com Charity Fund, and now my dream of setting up a MoneySaving charity to help educate people about consuming and finance is coming alive.
