A question about : Philidelphia CHOCLATE Spread? Worth Getting?

I notice that the full range o Philidelphia soft cheese spreads are being reduced to 84p in Tesco.

This includes the Chocolate one. Is it worth getting? Is it actually cheese or more of a chocloate spread that you can put on toast etc?

Please advise.

Best answers:

  • Why? Try it and see.
It is brown coloured goop the texture of Philadelphia. It doesn't taste of either. If you are fond of cheese you won't like it. If you are fond of chocolate you won't like it.
(I paid 10p for a short-dated tub once. I felt I was robbed and close to bothering to take it back for a refund.)
  • I like it personally, spread on a digestive with strawberries sliced on top it makes a quick cheesecake, which is what it tastes like chocolate cheesecake topping.
  • I found it more chocolately than cheesey and it's really a love or hate thing, we hated it!
  • I quite like it, I prefer to think of it as chocolate cheesecake spread!
  • It's synthetic cr*p, right up there with Nutella.
  • As a fan of both cream cheese and Nutella, I make chocolate cream cheese by mixing a blob of Nutella into plain cream cheese
  • No, not worth getting. It's grim. Even my kids hated it.
  • It tastes more like cheese, but has hint of chocolate taste. I like it with tea and crackers.
  • I like it on fruit crunch ryvitas with sliced banana when I have cravings for bad stuff. It must be wildly synthetic as I once found an unopened pack at the back of my fridge more than a year out of date. I ate it and it was fine.
  • I wasn't a fan at all
  • I loved it!
  • We all loved it.
