Been listening to the news again today, re the new offer to avert any further upset due to public sector kicking off due to pension issues.

A couple of figures hit me. They referred to the pension that a public service worker would recieve under the new offer.

A teacher earning Ј35K would get Ј25k pension

A nurse earning Ј30k would get Ј20k

Say I am a 28yr old man with a Ј65k income, are there any legal issues in diverting the maximum allowable Ј50k into my company pension plan, the maximum Ј243pm into childcare voucher plan (Ј2.9k) and living off the remainder Ј12.1k salary?

A question about : Shortfall in National Insurance Contributions

Hi,

I have misplaced the letter (only have the guidance to hand). It's along the lines of I can pay Јx's by 5 April 2010 due to shortfall in NI contributions to state pension. I need to read all the guidance but is this shortfall common?

Hi

Does anyone have any information on a method of payment called salary sacrifice? I'm starting a pension and the finance director at work said it is a good way of paying, because the tax/NI contributions are lower. Anyone heard anything about it? Thanks
