A question about : Parking eye charge due to wrong reg number

Hi just revived a letter with charges on it from parking last week and entering the wrong reg number, it's a newish car and my baby was screaming so was trying to be quick. I just got the numbers in the wrong order, what should I do please

Best answers:

  • just read and follow the appeals procedure in the NEWBIES sticky thread
add a note that the DRIVER (no naming or inferring who was driving) used the incorrect VRN and they should check their anpr records again, if necessary looking for the VRN on your ticket and add the incorrect VRN , scan the ticket if you have it and attach the scan (or photo from a mobile phone) - keep the original ticket safe
they will either cancel or issue a popla code
you can appeal on their website using the template letter, adapted to suit
remember , no naming the driver, so word it as if I was driving (as if I was the driver)
  • It depends how confident and mischievous you are...
Redx has explained the simplest and least hassle way of dealing with it.
Parking Eye are going to reject your appeal regardless, so if you want to cause them a bit of bother, what I would do is, appeal purely on mitigating circumstance, of new car, baby crying etc, however you did get reg right, albeit in wrong order.
When they reject your appeal, I would complain to the BPA, as they say that PPC's should show common sense etc and they back the PPC when they mistakenly put wrong reg on their notices. You can search this forum for examples to back up your complaint to the BPA.
And then when you appeal to POPLA, you can always go all in with a winning legal appeal there.
  • My daughter got my ticket and put my other cars registration instead of car reg i parked with at the time any chance they will let me off? cant believe they fined me!!!
