A question about : Thailand March 2016

Hi all,

We're looking to go to Thailand in the Easter holidays (2016). Ideally we would like to fly out on 25th / 26th March and return 8th / 9th April.

I've been told that most airlines release 11 months prior to departure, can you confirm if this is standard across all companies or do they vary? Can you also confirm that in our case we'd have to book 11 months prior to the 8th / 9th as the return flights won't be available until then?

A question about : Wife's flight ticket was cancelled without warning...

My wife is Colombian but lives with me in England. We have just got back from visiting her family. Basically, my wife only needed a ticket from Colombia to England as part of this journey. However, I discovered it was Ј100 cheaper to purchase a return ticket (from England to Colombia) and only use the 'return' part of the journey. So I bought this ticket thinking it was the smart thing to do.

My wife in the meantime wrote to the travel agency to say she wouldn't need the outward journey.

.. is not like other places you might have been, where the Hotels are near to the attractions . in Vegas the Hotels are the attractions. most have a huge casino attached , but if you think thats all there is to the place , you are sorely mistaken .

A question about : Advice on going to Australia to Work for a Year

My son of 20, Is thinking about heading to Brisbane, Australia for 6 months or up to a year.

He is heading by himself.

I just wonder has anyone else done this, and give us any advice, I have looked up some company's, which promise to find work for students and look after, but they don't always deliver what they promise.

Does anyone know if work is easy to come by, or how to go about securing work & accommodation before you go?

A question about : Transferwise to pay deposit in villa

Quick thumbs up to Transferwise, which I used to pay a deposit of 360 Euro for a villa in Portugal found on HomeAway.

It cost me just Ј1.34 for the transaction, ( Nationwide wanted Ј20 for a bank transfer ) plus I got a slightly better exchange rate.
The property owner was a bit suspicious of it though, not having heard of the service. I set up the payment on a Saturday and it went through the following Tuesday morning.

A question about : Hotels.com and VAT reclaim

I use hotels.com quite regularly for booking my hotels around the UK and Europe. As we are now VAT registered I am trying to claim back the VAT on these stays in the UK. Problem is hotels.com do not charge vat and if I book and pay through hotels.com I cannot get an invoice/receipt from the hotel I have stayed in? Has anyone else come across the same issue? I assume the way around it is to pay for the hotel on check out?

I am looking to purchase flights from Birmingham to Tampa. The cheapest if coming up through Lastminute.com but it says multiple airlines and as they are indirect I am trying to figure out if earlier flights are delayed will there be an obligation to book me onto later flights.

BHX - CDG Gives an Air France flight number but is operated by Flybe

CDG - ATL & ATL - TPA Quote Delta flight numbers

Inbound

TPA - CVG quotes Delta flight numbers
