Good evening everyone, we are with Age Concern Powergen electricity only (we have no gas!) and if you are over 60 you can have cavity wall insulation on your home for nothing. You do not have to be on pension credit or benefits. We also understand that Scotpower are doing something similar, hope this may help someone to save on their fuel bills, as we shall be doing soon!! What's this about?

Every year a Ј10 Christmas Bonus is paid before Christmas Day to pensioners and some people on benefits. This winter it's been announced an additional Ј60 per person will be paid between Jan & March 2009 to each person who got the Ј10 bonus.

Who qualifies for the cash?

If you got the Ј10 bonus, you'll definately get the additional Ј60.

Long Story so I'll try to keep it short.

My MIL (age 84) was hospitalised for 7 weeks after a fall in July 2007. The family were advised to look for a care home as in their medical opinion my MIL could not return to her sheltered accommodation due to a high risk of falls and the council's care team being unable to provide the frequency and timing of visits required to meet my MIL's revised medication regime.

How can an OAP sign a house over to her son, without it costing hundreds?

She lives in her own property and has paid the mortgage off. She has also paid the mortgage off on her OTHER property, which her son lives in.

So, she has 2 properties. One she lives in. One her son lives in. Both in her name.

His name is on the Deeds of the house he lives in, along with her and his dad (parents).

She wants to give the house to her son, now before anything happens to her.
