Hi. Merry Christmas everyone!

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent place to get organic food delivered from on-line.

I've used Abel and Cole in the past - but their prices seem pretty steep these days and also the last lot of stuff wasn't the greatest quality to be honest.

Someone recommended Ocado,but they don't deliver unless you spend at least Ј40 which isn't workable as that's a lot of stuff (for one person) and a fair percentage of it would go off before being eaten and thus defeating the object of trying to eat healthy 'cost effective' organic foods.

  I've been looking at these. Roaming Roosters seems a bit expensive but realfoods have some ok offers.
  Must look into them more, but both are possibilities?
  The issue I had with Abel and Cole were when they reused boxes, they didn't take off the labels of the people who previously had the box, so had their full names and address on it still.

  As I said the main sticking point seems to be if places have a high minimum delivery charge. If I stock up too much most of it will go off before I get round to it kind of defeating the object.

• I just had my first delivery from Riverford Organic Farms yesterday and was very impressed. The food is super-fresh, and there is no delivery charge, provided you meet a minimum (which I think is Ј12.50, if I remember correctly). If you order meat, there is a Ј25 minimum for that because of the packaging required to keep it fresh.
  I tried Realfoods last year and had real problems.
• I buy a SmartPass from Ocado which gives me free delivery, and because I shop with them regularly it saves enough to pay for itself over a year. SmartPass saves me 10% on a range of things including organic veg boxes which do come in several sizes.
  I use Abel & Cole for game, because unlike Riverford there's no Ј25 minimum on meat, so I can buy milk, eggs and one pack of sausages if I want. Riverford doesn't use cool boxes for non-meat products whereas Abel & Cole does so milk for example arrives cold.
  Abel & Cole and Riverford have wider range of organic veg than supermarkets (even Ocado) so I just buy the exotics and get cheaper standard organic veg like leeks, carrots, mushrooms from Sainsbury's, Ocado and ASDA.
  All of the supermarkets have higher minimum spends than Abel & Cole and Riverford. Waitrose is now Ј50. However Waitrose has organic frozen garden peas, petits pois, sweetcorn, mixed veg and oven chips.
