Friday 19 September

A question about : Friday 19 September

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of big stuff that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

DMP advice

A question about : DMP advice

Hello,

Could I please ask what is involved in setting up a DMP and how intrusive the process is (do I have to give people bank statements or bill demands etc before it is set up).

I'm just considering options and wanting to know what I may be setting myself up for. I had to take on a job recently that is much less money than my previous one so my previously manageable debts are now very difficult and I want to take the bull by the horns and get things sorted sooner rather than later.

Thanks.

I'm a spendaholic :(

A question about : I'm a spendaholic :(

Hi there, first of all, here's a poem I wrote about my spending...

My name is ScattyScot and I'm a spendaholic,
It's something I've been wanting to confess,
I have a tendency to spend beyond my means,
Which has left me in a little bit of a mess.

Although I don't spend lavishly,
No TV's, fancy holidays or cars,
I like the odd treat or to treat others,
I just sometimes go a little too far.
