A question about : No water /loo

what are the regulations in respect of workplaces, my sister has been told to go to work today, her workplace has no running water due to floods hence no water for the loos and the electric has been on and off all day so phones have been down.

Best answers:

  • Employers must provide potable water and toilet facilities for the workplace.
    See https://www.healthandsafety.co.uk/haswa.htm for full details.
  • They may have made arrangements for drinking water, eg buying it in, and there may be a tanker providing water for flushing the loos - as long as the sewers are still working!
BTW, a tip for flushing loos when there's no water coming into the cistern from the mains - if you take the lid off the cistern and half fill it with the water you've carried from the tanker, you can then flush as normal. Far more effective than chucking water down the toilet bowl direct ...

    Hi terrierlady,
I have moved your thread to the new Flood Help & Information board. I hope that's ok.
