A question about : My stoozing days abruptly ended?

I'm not sure what do and would appreciate any advice please...

6 months ago...thanks to much advice here... I started stoozing... to the tune of around Ј30K split over a mix of Egg/Virgin and Halifax cards.... this has been making a great difference to my mortgage payments as the stooze has offset my interest...

All was going well until I got made redundant last month.

Now I have not spent any of the stooze money and can pay it back immediately... but ideally I want to keep the stooze as long as possible by balance transferring to new cards.

I am working again though only on a temporary basis and my salary in this temp job is a fair bit lower.... I have a spotless credit record but I am expecting the temporary working status and lower salary to go against me now. I'm also concerned that applying and then being refused may have a negative affect in the longer term.

Another idea might be to just remove the uncertainty and pay all the stooze money back when the intro periods end...and then at least in the case of Egg.... use their annual promise to start a 0% deal again (though I assume SBT's may be restricted heavily by then).

Anyway I'd appreciate other advice or suggestions.

Best answers:

  • a couple of white lies about your income/job title will not hurt your credit rating
  • but is illegal.....
suggest you pay back as the interest free periods come to an end and restart once your income is more stable.
  • Quit while your ahead mate....its very easy to be greedy and try to "make" more money.
Just remember if things go wrong, and u end up dipping in to your stooze pot u will be in trouble.
As Rafter says pay it back and then start again when all is well again...
    Jeeves
  • Sorry to hear about your redundancy. I agree with the other posters - pay back stooze pot as it becomes due.
Good luck with new job search. I hope all goes well.
  • Yup seems like the best thing to do... I don't really need any unnecessary complications at the moment... I still have a few months left on most of the cards..... and lets face it - Stoozing is great whilst it lasts
