A question about : MSE Pregnancy Club 28

MSE Pregnancy Club 28

Official MoneySavingExpert.com Insert:

What's it about?

Back in July 2006 Bailey started this thread to help all pregnant MoneySavers and their partners save on anything pregnancy-related plus give each other moral support. It's been hugely popular and now has a long list of pregnant mothers-to-be.

Now it's not just for those that are pregnant but also those trying to conceive and MoneySavers that have probably already given birth and yet are probably too tired to let everyone know.

What should you do?

As well as being a great source of tips, baby-related bargains spotted, mutual support and help MoneySavers here have also gradually built up a list, adding themselves to one of these categories (the last one, people are moved to for obvious reasons!):

EDD (Estimated due date if you're pregnant)
TTC (trying to conceive if you're not) we now have 2 seperate threads for people TTC - 'Trying for a Baby' and 'Trying for a baby (12+ M/not straightforward)'
Birth List
Probably given birth but too worn out to log on list

If you want to add yourself to the list follow these steps:

Click on the link at the top of this page that says Last (it'll take you to the last page of the discussion)
Scroll down until you find the message with the very latest copy of the list in (if you use one further up the discussion other peoples' changes after that will be lost)
Copy that (highlight it and click control+c)
Click reply at the bottom of the thread to open a screen where you can past it (click control+p)
Add yourself to the list then click save
And don't feel shy. Introduce yourself, say hello and ask a question if you need to.

Plus, if you're thinking of how to cut down on nappy costs remember to have a read of the Nappy MoneySaving article too and for later down the line if you need childcare first read the Childcare Vouchers article.

Also please don't forget that this is a public forum and anyone could be reading it. Don't let this put you off discussing anything personal, just please be aware that the people posting on the thread may not be the only ones reading (it may just be that these people, aka lurkers, are too shy to post).

If you're new to the Forum it can look scattergun but read down and remember it's a conversation, starting with first post, scrolling forward for the latest. To reply you'll need to join the Forum but it's free to do.

This is a continuation of this thread which will be closed due to it's length.

  • Thanks for sorting this Becca, you beat me to it! These threads move so fast!!
  • Thanks for sorting this Becca! Hopefully our preggos won't get lost!
  • Thanks becca. The threads seem to be getting shorter & shorter!
4 days of work to go!
    Happy due date birdie x
  • Thanks Becca
  • Found it !
I'm off to bed soon as I'm tired from work.
  • Yay I've not lost you all in the move :-) subscribed so I don't lose you all!
So the in laws haven't been. I'm guessing instead of 'we' mil meant 'wed' as in Wednesday in her text!
Got all my sewing for tonight done - just 20 more tags to rip the old Velcro off and sew the new stuff on...really can't be bothered with anymore tonight though! Will do them tomorrow night :-)
Need to sort out what I will wear for work tomorrow - need to look smart but its hard when most of my stuff doesn't fit now!
Plan for the morning is to get up, sort doglet, dress and eat breakfast then box up my lunch and get out of the house as early as possible! Aiming for 8am so going to set the alarm for 6.20am...just need baby and my brain to cooperate!
  • Finished work today. Got a couple days holiday but basically on maternity leave from now on. Baby is getting very close now and a bit scared that I am so near the top of the list! I'm just hoping this one is a little more eager to get out than his big sister who stayed put until 40+12...
Something I heard of to get labour going - quite possibly another old wives tale but then it's not going to hurt - there's a radox bubble bath with clary sage in it. Worst case scenario you get a nice warm bath to relax in (aside from the end when you have to call someone to help you get out of it!)
Congrats to the new mummies and lets hope us Feb 26ths aren't kept waiting too long. More importantly though, labour vibes to Birdie xx
  • I'm now lying in bed, have noticed recently my stomach feels a lot harder than before.... Better than the flab I'm used to haha !
I'm really wanting to buy pink or blue, keep seeing lovely outfits !! I worry as we have hardy any outfits at all... We have like 3...
Lots of white babygrows mind you. I just don't want to buy neutral outfits though... People keep saying don't worry people will buy loads but what I they don't and baby has no clothes lol!! I'll need to run to the shops like 2 days after birth !!!
  • Argghhh!! Went to the gp this morning and the pain in my shoulder/elbow/wrist/hands/knees is due to hormone changes like my pgp and nothing can be done. Apparently its rare for someone to get so bad but then my pgp started ridiculously early so I guess I'm an oddball. I just want to cry as I had got used to the hip/back pain and was counting down the days but now most of me is in excrutiating pain. I haven't slept for days as its so bad and I'm meant to be reducing the pain meds so they won't affect the baby. And I slipped on the way to the doctors, I caught myself before I fell but it jarred so my side is really bad again. So I'm stuck on a level barely above bedrest for the time being and feeling miserable
  • Congrats 9ja4life!!! Sorry it wasn't the birth you had hoped for but I'm glad everything is good with you and baby
  • Polkadots that really sucks I know how depressing my hip pain can get so to have the extend to how your suffering I can't imagine xxx
  • polka_dots - I have a bad back and that is painful but it sounds like you are really suffering.
AFM - can't believe time is going so fast now. I have 2 months left at work and literally the days are flying.
Hope the sweep goes well Birdie85!
  • Polka dots sorry to hear you are in pain
I really need to do my hospital bag this week, better finish shopping for it!
    37+1
  • Have your cramps disappeared now Becca? I'm getting pain down in my lower groin area today and the top of my bump feels like it's deflated a bit, think baby is moving her way down!!!!
  • Big hugs Polka_dots, sounds just awful.
Sweep wasn't great this morning. Cervix is still long and hard (???) so the midwife basically said she'd see me at the same time next week! Woke up with period type cramps and upset tummy but since then everything's gone back to normal.
  • Morning I'm chuffed that I managed to work to walk this morning although my umbrella is now a bit battered. I think my sleepless nights have caught up with me today as I am cream crackered. Its going to be a caffeine day to keep me going as I'm going for tapas meal with work tonight and have to stay awake.
Aren't hormones wonderful polka_dots Is there any chance of the pain improving?

  • Morning all
Well I saw the doctor yday and my headaches are nothing pregnancy related which is a relief. He just suggested having a few days off work and getting plenty of rest. So I'm doing just that!
Babys heartbeat was as strong as usual and I had no other signs pointing to pre eclampsia.
sounds like your body isnt ready yet birdie. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait till a sweep next week for things to start moving.
smlsave is the weather bad near you? We've got snow coming down at the moment! mmmm love a bit of tapas, hope you feel up for it later.
    Congratulations 9ja4life!
Polkadots hope you're feeling better today.
I've not bought any outfits really either con. I like seeing small babies in babygrows! And im sure we'll get bought some anyway.
  • Hi all just checking in to find out if birdie had popped yet
I'm working from home this afternoon, had my third physio appointment this morning and things with my hip do seem to have improved slightly which is good. It is so flooded around my area it took me ages to get there, and then I had to park a short walk away and by the time i got back to the car I was soaked through so decided to come home and work rather than going into the office, so now I'm snuggled up in bed under the blanket with a cup of tea on my work laptop
Wish I could work from home everyday!!
Going to a couples antenatal yoga workshop tonight with my OH! Really looking forward to it! Hope everyone else is good! Smlsave sorry to hear you're so tired, I get days like that
Birdie my fingers are crossed for you for some progress over the next few days!!!
