gratefulforhelp's austerity measures

A question about : gratefulforhelp's austerity measures

Mainly inspired by chamichelle's Bumbling along to be mortgage free and also the MFW challenge thread every year, I have decided to start a diary to motivate myself through my next challenge which will be financially surviving maternity leave and continuing to pay off the mortgage.

The good things about my situation financially are that DH and I both earn a good salary, in relatively secure jobs, and we also have a little income from CM when the ex can't get away with not paying it.

Lulabelle's MFW Diary

A question about : Lulabelle's MFW Diary

Good Morning fellow MFW's

After posting a thread wondering where to get started, I have decided to take the very important step of officially becoming a MFW and starting my very own diary.....

DH and I purchased our current property 5 years ago for Ј240K (worth a bit less now but hey ho) and at the time our mortgage was for around Ј195k. As you can tell by approximate mortgage amount, I never really looked at these things too closely back then, but that has changed!

many a mickle...

A question about : many a mickle...

Many a mickle maks a muckle - or so they say - which is my plan for paying off the mortgage by dribs and drabs, no huge overpayments on this thread I'm afraidtitle=Embarrassment. After many years on the DFW board I felt it was time to graduate to MFW land in an attempt to stay focused and before new year just in case I get sucked into the sales!

The Mortgage Free in Three

A question about : The Mortgage Free in Three

The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 challenge (MFiT-T2)

This is a challenge similar in concept to the original Mortgage Free in Three (MFiT) thread.

The inspiration for this challenge was originally to formalise the remaining three years of my own mortgage free goal of 12/12/12. I was giving the opportunity for people to join me in the next 3 years as I complete the final leg of my own journey.
