Merlin have made some improvements to the annual pass drink capsules by reducing the capsule price and adding a charge PER refill. The capsule is going to be smaller as well.

Net result = a lot of VERY unhappy Merlin Annual Pass Holders:

  I personally have a voucher for an unlimited refill cup with unlimited refills (from Tesco), It will be interesting what response I get when I try to redeem it.
• Is only fizzy drinks and it rots your teeth!

• This time last year you could get a free hot drink in the afternoon by showing your annual pass. That was a decent offer. Only cost them pennies, but at least we were getting some additional benefit. They soon scrapped that.
  Merlin just want to bleed every last penny out of the customer. Pay more and get less every year. I suspect it won't be long before they go the way of Blackpool and try to stop you bringing your own food in.
• I went to Alton Towers yesterday. They have introduced a capsule for Ј5 then you can refill it as many times as you like that day only (The date is written on in permanent marker). They are not starting the Ј1.99 capsule for pass holders with 75p refills until 20 March when they open properly.
• We got Merlin passes (with clubcard vouchers of course ) and visited Alton Towers today.
  Getting hold of the drinks capsules was a bit like a treasure hunt: they're not in the drinks kiosks (why would they be?) or the shops (too obvious), or guest services (No no no! SO last season darling). We evidently spoke to the right person in the end, who told us they are only available from the box office.
  We bought them really because you can get free water refills, so for Ј1.99 a head, Mum doesn't have to be the family pack- horse, carrying her own body weight in drinks...all year! Hubby gets his diet coke cheap, and the kids get to carry their own water around their necks. Everyone's happy. And hydrated 😁
