A question about : What do you do with your child benefit?

Just curious as sorting finances out - do you pay it into a separate account? A savings account? Or just into the household pot?

Ours currently go into the pot but I'm thinking about paying it into a separate account so I can keep a bit more of an eye on it.

What works for you please?

Hi

I was just wondering whether you had savings at the time your baby was born...and how much you budgeted? Obviously, each family is different, but just in general...

Me and hubby only have around Ј400 spare each month after outgoings, and that's with both of our salaries..
We don't have any savings as we have just bought a house.

A question about : Lending son large sum for deposit

Hopefully I've come to the right place; apologies if not.

I've agreed to lend my son Ј10K for a deposit on a house. He doesn't have a specific house picked out as yet; no problem with that. Being the generous Mum that I am, there's a Bank of Mum low interest rate and repayment term: Ј50 per month.

We've agreed to get a solicitor to draw up an agreement for the both of us including outcomes such as:

In each the case, he fully admits the offence to you but the chances of him being linked by the police for it by other means, other than you informing on him, are negligible.
