A question about : Magical Journey

I have spent Ј75 on what looked like a fantastic, once in a lifetime experience called the Magical Journey in association with Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen.
It has just opened and has made the news after hundreds of complaints on its first day of opening and is closed until 26th November.
I am not due to go until Christmas week but am not convinced that this is going to be worth anything like the amount of money I have spent for 4 people to go so have asked for a refund. I also have had feedback from someone who went who said it was absolutely pants. I would now rather spend that money on something else I KNOW is good and is recommended.
Their response to my refund request was:

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that we are fully committed to the cause of improving this experience and that all concerns already raised will be dealt with, and altered, in the appropriate manner to ensure that the experience is as expected for our visitors.

Due to this and our aim to re-open successfully on Wednesday 26th November, we do not currently have a refund policy for dates after 26/11/2014.

I am not happy or confident in this purchase but do I have any rights to ask categorically for a refund? I am so annoyed.

Thank you to anyone who can advise!

Best answers:

  • they do appear to be trying to sort it out now, do the updates on their facebook page help at all? lots were asking about refunds on there, might be worth looking to see what the latest info is. terms & conditions of your booking should advise what rights are for a refund, but then they might be bending the rules a little due to the fuss that's been caused.
  • They are offering refunds to anyone who has been but not for anyone yet to go.
Can't find the terms and conditions of my booking but they could now be totally changed now, as it is all online!
They have made improvements and keeping everyone posted n Facebook but I would rather just book something this year that is recommended and leave this until next year when it will hopefully be the perfect experience it promised to be!
Any improvements at the moment are just knee-jerk ones so won't be thought out or of any real quality I imagine.
I would have thought out of courtesy they would just refund anyone who requested it with the publicity they've had! How wrong was I?!
  • Just seen about the reopening of this on the local news.
People coming out of it today are giving it positive reviews, if a little expensive.
  • they seem to be getting great reviews now on their facebook page, very little complaints, if any.
  • The pictures on facebook don't look great, but if its rubbish when you go, just keep complaining until you get a refund.
