A question about : Lose Weight 14

So you wanna lose weight? You've come to the right place! title=Big

Pull up a chair and join in the chat, whatever plan you're following to lose weight, there'll be someone here that can help and advise, or offer moral support.

There are regulars here who follow Slimming World, WeightWatchers, calorie counting, combining healthy eating with exercise, or just cutting back.

You can join the 2 pound weight loss club and see your results in a chart that's updated every Wednesday, and you can take part in the monthly challenge - we're currently aiming to lose 5lbs by 29th August. (We all like to think we're going to lose 2lbs every week, but in reality that doesn't always happen, so 5lbs a month is a more realistic target.) And you could be Slimmer of the Week, or Slimmer of the Month!

We have plenty of recipes to help you in the recipes thread (link below) and there are links to useful websites below.

  • Hi
Just replied to 13 thread so will put it here too!
Lois would you put me down for 3lbs this week, as I weigh in on a Thursday so I let everyone know earlier this week but didn't make it onto chart, sorry if I weasn't very clear let me know how to make it obvious!!
Many thanks and congrates again to Rustynash on being star of the week as my kids would say!!!
  • Thanks Lois for the chart, and also for the new thread.....
It's quiet since ajax went to play with his balls! Golf balls I mean!
Well done furrypig 3lbs off is a brilliant result and welcome teeni. Stick with us and you won't go wrong ( at least you'll get a laugh if nothing else.)
  • Hello LW 14!
I'm here but slightly confused, LL - why do we start a new thread now? Happy to follow the weight loss crowd wherever of course, what a top bunch of people!
Good luck everyone for the coming week xx
  • Good morning LW14. Just read yesterday's.... quick observations:
Cook Yourself Thin has been recorded on the V+ ... looking forward to it even more now.
Suggs .... "Morning all (and Ajax)". I have one word - HRMPH! Golf was pretty poor - no birdies (us high handicappers don't do birdies that often)
Grannynise I am sooo proud of you for giving the conmen (and conbirds) grief. Hats off to you.
Thanks again Lois for your efforts with the chart.
Poohbear, it always comes off much slower than it went on, that's just something that we'll all have to put up with. The important thing is not to get disheartened and stick with it. We really do sympathise as we're in the same boat
Last, and probably most importantly... Bails !!!! Lycra hockey shorts? Get it posted !!!! As for the new thread, someone comes along, taps Lois on the shoulder and says "your thread is a bit long now me old china, get a new one done". It's all done for neatness.
  • Morning Peeps
to Lois for doing the necessary to start the new thread ...
...Well done rustynash SOTW and hits the monthly challenge in the first week ...
... teeni and well done on your weight loss so far, we all struggle after a while for a couple of weeks but the resolve does kick back in and you'll soon be getting rid of the other couple of stones ...
    xxxx
  • Oh, one more thing...
Delly, I had no idea there was a 21 point weekly alcohol limit. That's awful news.
  • Feeling SOOOOO positive thanks to you all!
But on Saturday I go on holiday for two weeks... no internet ... no weighing scales ... BUT it is in a cottage so I have control over the menus, BUT it is a holiday and there is an award winning restaurant , the blurb says, across the road.
Please send positive vibes to South West Wales to keep me on the straight and (if at all possible) narrow.
I shall continue to write down all I eat, so welsh cakes, welsh pie, welsh ice cream, welsh chocolate and aim to be no more than I am now on return. Is that feasible, experienced peeps? Or do you, I know you do, have better advice? I don't want to fall at the first hurdle.
Ajax how much alcohol is 21 points? And is it the same limit for alcohol if you dont have a p****?
  • Morning all!
Been meaning to ask, what is the Ј for lbs thang? I'm assuming it's money every time you lose some weight but what are the figures for it? Just planning ahead in case I ever actually get round to losing any

    Ajax,
thanks for explaining about the thread move. At least I won't be wibbling on much here so it might last a bit longer! And as for the photo, well I would post it up but I'm just terribly busy with the packing so you'll have to wait...
Off to make some GL muesli to take with me (see, I am trying!). Can almost smell the pain au chocolat wafting across from the bakery already...
  • Thanks for the welcome everyone, i know from reading the posts that support is here and also a laugh if things go wrong.
  • If anyone on WW or following a WW points plan is interested in an electronic version of the points tracker, I've just knocked one up. It's the same format as the WW one but needs one less pen (albeit one more PC). It adds points up as you go through the day and shows what's remaining. There's a screenshot >>hereefrieze's weight table/graph, bring in the BMI and other tools and anything else useful.
(EDIT) I've stuck it on t'inter-web so there's no need to PM me if anyone wants it. It's on this page >>here

  • Oooh I'm on the chart - I'll have to do well then! Three days in to my second SW go and I don't feel like I'm doing that well. Will try to have a good weekend (at boyf's with his cooking and all that duty free wine around?) and see what my weight is on Monday.
  • Ooh, just seen your chart Ajax, is it geared up specifically for WW or can I put in my own points? On my plan I get 45 a day. Would be really helpful for menu planning x
