A question about : Klm claim

We were stranded in Athens for 6 days during the first ash cloud disruption. KLM have been particulalry unhelpful as regards claiming back food / accommodation expenses, although they did rebook us on first available flight. It is impossible to find a phone number where you can actually talk to anyone who knows anything, and we are constantly referred back to the website information - which doesn't help at all, but only gives details of how to claim a refund. Does anyone have any phone numbers or addresses where we could send details of claims / receipts etc? Thanks.

  • KLM wont help they have been telling us for weeks, we even started a face book page and had 50 people join a campaign to force them to make an official statement, FB closed it after only 2 days. If you want to talk to them they will via FB but only once to tell you to put a claim in via the link below.
However many people are still waiting for replies to simple emails after 4 weeks, KLM said it would take 6 weeks but them asked everyone to open new messages after people waited 2 weeks. Hopeless. many of us have escalated to MEP and the AUC and even the EU Commisoner but are still not getting any where. Media have also been contacted but only a couple of small stories.
If you email them scan copies of receipts and send them to them. But join the queue, as many of us dont think they are bothered at the moment and are just waiting.

  • Thanks for your reply. We have already emailed them following the link you provided, and our solicitors have written to them at the French address. I guess its just a matter of waiting - and then maybe more legal action!!!
  • keep us posted if your solicitor gets a response, we havent gone down the full road of claiming as yet as they wont respond to our emails but have the scanned receipts to send to their French address today, they are to big to send via email.
