A question about : iPhone question pleas

My son-in- law uses an iPhone for taking photos. Even though it has Bluetooth, for whatever reason, he has been unable to Bluetooth any photos to other devices. Does anyone know an easy way of getting these photos out please.

Best answers:

  • You sadly can't use Bluetooth to get photos off an iPhone to any other device apart from an Apple device (and even then it would need to support AirDrop).
Plug the iPhone into a computer and use Windows Explorer to copy off the photos (if using Windows), or iFunBox or iExplorer (if you have a Mac).
  • If I remember correctly it is a limitation of IPhones that you can't bluetooth pictures.
My thoughts would be upload them to dropbox (or similar)
Or plug the phone into a computer and use that to transfer.
There may be apps that can do this also (I don't use an iphone so I don't know)
edit: Groovyf beat me to it
  • Thanks both, so this begs the question why Bluetooth on iPhone, is it simply to influence you to buy a compatible tablet/device
  • Bluetooth for things other than audio work well... if you have other Apple devices or items that use Bluetooth (think health monitors, keyboards, and the new Bluetooth LE kit).
  • One of the many reasons to avoid Apple products, they go out of their way to make it difficult as possible to get stuff on and off their mobile products.
  • Ok, so now he knows, understands and appreciates your help. I think this might help him make up his mind to ditch this phone when the contract ends soon.
  • Could even use Dropbox to upload the photos to it, setup Dropbox on the PC and downloads said photos.
  • Has he used ''Whatsapp" You can send photo's to anyone else with the same app.
  • It was in reply to hop3y's comment about it being used for audio only - which it isn't
  • I email photos to myself, then choose 'export to iPhoto'.
    Quick and easy.
  • The Mac users amongst us are all yelling PHOTOSTREAM
Then the pictures just move themselves!
  • There's an app called Chirp that lets you beam images from one phone/tablet to another, using sound!
