A question about : Uk assist

I had a call from 'uk assist' last night regarding a car accident in 2010. The driver of the other vehicle has had a personal injury payment and they say anyone in my car can claim aswell even though no one was recorded as being hurt. I challenged this claim culture and the guy said if I didn't claim my insurance company would and that it comes from a government 'pot' so doesn't add to insurance premiums etc. Has anyone come across this before and are they 'uk assistance' which appear a lot in these blogs?

A question about : Insurers Cancelled Policy

My wife received a letter today notifying her that as her policy doesn't have a Direct Debit in place, she is in breach of the terms of her policy and if she doesn't set up a direct debit by 23:59 on 17th February (yes, 17th FEBRUARY), the policy will be cancelled.

I am named on her policy as having permission to talk to the insurance company so I have just phoned them and the policy has indeed been cancelled. They claim to have sent the letter on 2nd February as a last ditch attempt at getting the Direct Debit set up.

Checking my bank statement recently I noticed a DD for Ј3.99 to Budget (Avon). In fact I had two lots coming off my account for the past 6 months.

Not sure what it was for did some interweb research and discovered they are linked to Budget Car insurance policies I took out last February.

Hi all,

As the title says, I am a 23 year old trying to find some travel insurance for a year of travelling around Asia (mainly Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand). Normally, this would be easy, but I occasionally suffer with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation so this is proving difficult, or at least proving difficult to find a good deal...

Does anyone have any advice on which providers are good in this instance? (other than comparison websites which I have already got some quotes from)

A question about : Motor Insurance Renewal

Received my renewal quote from existing insurer = Ј401.50

EXACTLY the same policy (with same Excess, everything) through a Comparision website = Ј282.73

That's a difference of almost Ј120.

There's nothing to stop me cancelling my renewal and taking out a new policy through the comparison site online, is there?

I could just call them, but in the mood I'm in, I might get a tad lairy.....
