A question about : Husbands DRO application- Heard nothing from insolvancy service.

Step change sent my husband's DRO application off on Wednesday at around 2pm. We have read that the insolvency service only take 48 hours to make a decision but he can't find any information on the register and is now panicking that he's been refused/ will be refused.
Its so bad for us both as I have just paid out Ј90 for it and we are up to our eyes in debt letters hounding us as we haven't paid towards any of them this month.
We will be in a worse position now than before if he gets refused as charges are being added to our debts.

We really are going to find it hard to cope as my husband is a stay at home father and I'm the sole earner on Ј22,000 a year with a three year old to support also.

  • I know for bankruptcies it can take a working day or 2 for the them to update the register so it shows. Would imagine it's no different with a DRO.
No idea about the 48 hours but I would also imagine there is some give in that as well.
If your intermediary thought it would be accepted then they would usually be correct.
I wouldn't panic. I'm sure it will all shake down soon.
  • hi,samwich1979, dont panic my paper work went through on mon and like you i was beging to panic but have just received the approval letter in the post just checked the register and its not there yet but at least i do have the letter.
    good luck.
  • My dro is almost at its end, but I remember when I sorted it nearly a year ago. I spoke to ND on the day they were preparing to submit mine, and that was on a Thursday if I remember correctly. I was told I may hear something by Friday but it could be the beginning of the week. (as they will text you if it went through ok)
Didn't hear anything Friday, then nothing Monday - so I checked the register and there I was on it! So I knew it had gone through. I didn't get the message until Tuesday afternoon.
I'm sure it will all be ok - as already said before, they usually make pretty sure that it will go through before its even submitted.
  • Could be busy time for them? with just having the worst months of the year, you know everybody thinks about their debts hun at this time
