Hi there!

I've been using this forum for a few years now to read up on lots of money and saving questions and I thought it was maybe time to post something

2014 and 15 are going to be pretty big years for me as I am doing up my flat and my bf and I are planning on ticking something off of our bucket list - hiking Machu Picchu!

To stay motivated in saving for both of these major things I have decided to start a money saving diary, and when better to start it than new years!

The base of my bed went late last year. Went into Dreams in Catford - South London today. I was introduce to three base units, two were Ј200 and one was Ј150, not bad i thought.

I asked the shop assistant if he could drop the price, and he said he could possibly take a tenner off. I enquired about delivery charge, and was told it would cost Ј40.00

I am Gothrockchic (aka GRC). I have moved over from the Debt Free diary board. I have been Debt Free for a month now. I moved to Edinburgh three months ago to find a Rock Band, so far so good and I have found a guitarist and hope to soon find a drummer and another guitarist.

Well I've been saving for the deposit on my first home and have been posting along with many others on the We're saving for a deposit thread admittedly intermittenly, but I do keep up to date reading it: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...89675&page=120

I've decided to now keep a log of my progress all in one place to keep track of everything and keep me motivated.

After your program I e-mailed AA about a cancelled flight last year. They have just offered me Ј1500 cash or Ј3150 in vouchers.

A question about : LA Fitness Direct Debit increase without notice

LA Fitness have increased my monthly DD membership fee from Ј26.99 p/m to Ј49.50 over the last couple of months without any notification! 45.5% absurd!

Surely they can't do this without notifying me in writing first?

Worse of all I have been ill for the past few months and didn't cancel or freeze my membership thinking that I am paying a nominal amount.

I will call them tomorrow and post how I got on.
