A question about : Rent Rise

My landlord has notified me that my rent is rising from Ј550 to Ј580 per month from December.I currently get Ј43 per week housing benefit as I am on low income.I have been told that I have to find the extra each month,that my HB will not rise.Is that correct? Thankyou

Hi, i'm not sure if this is in the right section, apologies if it aint.
I'm not going to go into all the issues i had i will just generalise for the first two so you get the gist. I am absolutely besides myself as i cannot believe i'm in this situation again.1A My first home of 9 years i had to leave because of bad neighbours who lived on top of me, if i hadn't at that time I am sure i would have died because of my ill health due to the serious noise and anti-social problems i suffered for the last two years.

My husband earns 15000 pa to support myself and two children. I was self employed, but no longer giving that up to be home with the children. I am a part time student and looking to return to work in the new year - again self employed.
I haven't made enough contributions for income support/jsa or what ever it is now.
We get Working and C Tax Credits of approx 110 pw.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyones knows about shared ownership and housing benefit.

I know that housing benefit is only to help with rent, and therefore can receive housing benefit.

But do they still take into the consideration your mortgage payment to calculate your housing benefit? And as long as it is only the amount of the rent or less then you are entitled to it?

Or do they not even take this into consideration in their calculations?
