A question about : Holiday company went into liquidation

We booked a holiday it Italy and the agency they use to book the hotel went bankrupt. The first we heard was on our arrival at the hotel. The holiday company were useless and we had to arrange our new accommodation whilst there, spent hours emailing/texting and were not allowed to leave our hotel until 1pm on the last day while they and the holiday company negotiated on resolving the payment. V stressful holiday. On return the holiday company have eventually agreed to pay the hotel and refund our telephone costs but refuse to compensate us for disruption to our time there and stress caused. Is this unreasonable?

Best answers:

  • How much did the stress and time taken cost you monetarily?
They are compensating you for the costs you incurred, they won't compensate you because you didn't enjoy yourself.
  • How does this relate to the Volcano (Easter 2010) chaos?
