Hi there,
I am making xmas presents and I need superchunky wool but I don't have any or the cash to buy some
I was wondering if I could mix yarn weights from two or more balls of wool to achieve a superchunky wool?
Can anyone advise me please x x

• In a word, yes I often use more than one ball of wool at a time to create a thicker yarn. As various brands of yarn vary in thickness, it's probably easiest if you knit a tension square to establish just what combination you need for your chosen project. To start with, I'd suggest you try 3 strands of double knit and go from there.

• I hadn't thought of this! Must try it! Any other ideas as to what combination of weights would equal super chunky? Would 2 strands of Aran do it?
• Two strands of aran is roughly equal to three strands of double knitting, so try it and see You've nothing to lose except a bit of time. It's always worth knitting a tension square to check what size a yarn comes out as everyone knits differently.
