Solar iboost installation

A question about : Solar iboost installation

I have recently had a 2.65KW solar PV system installed and am considering a solar iboost water heater. My current immersion heater is 3kw. At the moment I am generating approx 2-3KW a day and exporting most of it as no one is in the property during the day. I have periodically checked the power out put from the panels and they are generating up to 1.3kw at a time in the day.

Solar energy

A question about : Solar energy

Most people who've installed solar panels in the last 18 months or so will be claiming Feed-in tariff payments from electricity suppliers.

Some suppliers are paying fairly quickly after the claim goes in - but some aren't. E.on, for example, used to pay within a few days but are now delaying payments for up to a month.

Great for companies' cashflow - but not for the individuals claiming.

Has anyone fitted a GEO 2 solar bridge

A question about : Has anyone fitted a GEO 2 solar bridge

I've set up the GEO monitor and I dont know that it's working properly (as it's nighttime!) but it looks okay.

I've connected up the bridge and tried to connect to monitor as per instructions but I'm not getting the little cloud on the screen or a code to put into the website.

Any suggestions. Does the monitor need to be really close to the router as its in the same room but quite a way away. I'd appreciate any help.

Solar Panels Quote

A question about : Solar Panels Quote

I have decided to get them and have had a quote where the company will price match any other quote with same materials used , the company is CJ Solar based in Ipswich .
The quote is for a 4kw - 16 solarworld panels with micro inverters and on two sections of roof . The price is Ј8190 and i am sure i could get that down quite a bit , the company is really good and been established for many years . I also know that for the same installation about a year ago they charged the same amount , prices have come down since then , haven't they ?

Smart Meter with solar systems (OVO)

A question about : Smart Meter with solar systems (OVO)

I have searches the forum and Googled but have not been able to answer the following questions.

I have been offered a Smart Meter by OVO. It appears that it is optional and that I may accept or remain silent. The meter is accompanied by an in house handheld device.

The link OVOs FAQ does not appear to lead to the correct page.

Questions:

[1] Can the subscriber read export and invoice separately on the Smart Meter or on the handheld device ?

Solarking quote, are they to be trusted now?

A question about : Solarking quote, are they to be trusted now?

Hi,
Had a quote yesterday from Solarking, in summary 14 panels, 1x1.7 3.5 kw SAP (?) 711 + 892 output 2850.5 1st year 'FiT Ј395.65 g'teed Ј8579 which included a one off 'discount ' of Ј1500 - bit concerned as to the one off discount - Our orientation is South and East, pitch 35 degrees and it would be a split array. Extra was a 'solarking' discount card worth 3% cash back at ASDA, B & Q etc. Has Solarking tidied up it's act or are they still to be treated with caution? Cheers, John
