A question about : Big Asda Price Increases.........

Hello everybody

Just wanted to add my two pennies following a recent similar thread regarding Tesco.

Went into Asda earlier today and I regularly buy Asda's Smart Price Sardines. They were up (until very recently) 17p they are now 24p. I also picked up some Smart Price chopped tomatoes and these were 33p. I am sure these use to be about 15p .

A question about : Sainsburys basics washing powder shrinks in size!(but not price)

For those who buy Sainsbury's basics washing powder:
The big box used to be 3Kg for Ј1.64 and 1Kg for 65p. They have reduced the size of pack - 2.4Kg and 800g for the same price !!

I found today that the shelf filler had not noticed the change and had put 800g on top of the old 1kg packs. So have a rummage and you might find a bigger pack. It's even cheaper per g to buy 3 x 1Kg packs rather than 1 x 2.4Kg pack.

A question about : Smaller pack sizes but same price

I've noticed loads of pack size changes over the past few weeks at work, ( I work for one of the big supermarkets), but the price has not changed! Examples are - Fairy Liquid from 500ml to 450ml, loads of soap powders and capsules, Kelloggs portion pack cereals, all smaller packs. There are a few more which i cannot remember off the top of my head.

my local sainsbury is selling all its cointreau and brandy butters for just 10p

you can freeze it lol

they also have organic stuff too

• bought some of this yesterday, don't know why apart from the fact it was 10p! says on it that it can't be frozen.
  other things with 75% off there included terrys choc orange (now 51p) and boxes of dark choc lindt (Ј1.47) - think they'll get eaten before the butter!

A question about : Waitrose dine for Ј10.00 meal deal

Hi, I can't find this posted: my local Waitrose is attempting to emulate the M&S meal deal - get a (decent) bottle of wine, luxury pizza, bag of salad, 2 portions cheesecake for Ј10.00 - 'saving' just over a fiver. Potentially saving quite a bit more of course if you happen to have any coupons on you, which would then make it a good deal. Sorry do not know if this is nationwide, but I would assume it is. HTH.
